*Birthday Present*

What a beautiful weekend we had here.... lots of sun, warmer temperatures... the snow is melting melting melting! The back yard still has a snowbank along the back fence as the sun doesn't spend much time warming that area up, but it will all be gone soon. Living in Calgary I'm not delusional... I know that there will more than likely be another big dump of snow before spring is here for real.

I spent some time stamping this weekend... Friday night while Alex and Bruce were off skiing and again Sunday night since there was nothing good on TV and Bruce was watching shows he'd recorded that I don't enjoy.

I made this card on Friday. My colour combination came from the ribbon I bought at Michaels. I also bought some $1.50 stamps at Michaels and decided to use one on this card as well. I used two Only Orange ovals to create the matting for the main image. I punched the orange rectangle with my Marvy Giga Scalloped Square punch.... turned it around and chopped off the bottom to create a smaller rectangle. There are three little gems along the bottom of the orange scalloped piece. I also pressed the edges of the rectangular piece into my white ink pad... after it was dry I coloured around the edges of the scallops with my Sakura Stardust clear Gel Pen.

items used:
*Ribbon: Michaels
*Images: Michaels and Stampin' Up

*Ink: Stampin' Up Basic Black Classic and White Craft
*Accessories: Sakura Stardust Clear Gel Pen, Swarovski Crystals from Outlines Rubberstamps
*Tools: Cuttlebug and Bloomin' Dots Embossing Folder, Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval Punch, Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch, Paper Piercing Tool

  2. Fun card. I have this ribbon, too, but hadn't played around with colors yet. Thanks for the idea!
