*Monday Again??*

Please, someone tell me... how is it that it is already Monday again? Is it just me or does time just seem to be going by faster and faster? It's April 30th! Tomorrow is the beginning of MAY! May?? Already? Didn't we just celebrate Valentine's Day? How can it be the end of April?

It's a sign that I'm getting older, I'm sure.

I managed to get down to my craft space yesterday while it was raining. Unfortunately, not a lot of creativity was flowing. I did manage to make up a card using the sketch I saw on Amy's Blog yesterday afternoon. I also managed to use up all but a few scraps of this beautiful scrapbooking paper.... will need to go out and buy more!

I love the layout of this card.... so simple to put together. I did have a hard time deciding what to do for the focal image on the left side. I am so thankful that so many of these patterned papers are double sided so that I get a colour that goes with my paper so well.

Unfortunately, in making this card I managed to break another B plate for my Cuttlebug. I think that perhaps this flower die (from the Asterisks set) is thicker than the rest... I've had problems with it before. Anyway, the plate cracked while cutting the chipboard coaster. I've done it many times with other Cuttlebug dies, but this one just doesn't seem to be happy unless it breaks my B plate. Sigh.

The "Have a Good Day" is an image from one of the $1.50 Clear Stamp sets from Michael's. I was there on Saturday afternoon and managed to buy 8 sets of stamps plus the two sizes of blocks. Alanna suggested on an email list I am on (actually, I own/moderate the list) that to get your ink to stick to these stamps better to wash them with warm soapy water with a scrub brush. So I did that yesterday... a dish of warm soapy water and an old toothbrush. I will let you know if it worked! She said it had something to do with a residue left on the stamps during the manufacturing process.

items used:
*Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Whisper White (card base), So Saffron
*Patterned Paper: Imaginisce
*Image: $1.50 Michael's Clear Stamp
*Ink: Stampin' Up! Basic Black Classic Ink
*Tools: Cuttlebug, small corner rounder (to create scallops)
*Embellishments: bling for centre of flower, chipboard coaster

  5. Just a tip for the clear stamps. They work so much better with pigment inks. I use Versafine Onyx and never have a problem. The images come out really crisp.

I have used them straight from the package without washing or conditioning and the kind of ink makes all the difference.

    PS Love reading your blog.
