*That's It... I'm Building an Ark!!*

I am so done with the rain this spring. It is 8pm, raining cats and dogs (has been raining since sometime yesterday), is a whopping 7*C (45*F) and there are puddles forming in any low-lying areas. We have had a lot of rain in the last few weeks and the ground is truly saturated. Driving home this evening we saw huge puddles forming in ball fields.

This weather is doing nothing for the landscaping that's getting done in our yard. They were only able to work a half day yesterday before things were too wet for them to continue... and I doubt they even bothered to get out of bed this morning (not that I blame them!!).

Believe it or not, we had to turn the thermostat up and have the furnace kick it. Hello??!! It's June 7th!!!

Let's hear it for Mother Nature...

Sure hope she is kinder to us in summer.... watch, it will be unbearably hot for those of us without air conditioning (don't really need it in Calgary as our average summer temperatures are around 22-26*C (72-80*F).

So I think I will try to spend tomorrow in the basement crafting....

I created this card one day, just playing around to see how it looked. It is a one layer card, which aren't always easy to do. Of course, this one is very busy which made it a little easier to not get carried away with layers.

Items Used:
*Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Whisper White
*Images: Rhonna Farrer Swirls; Paper Trey Ink Beautiful Blooms
*Ink: VersaMagic in Key Lime; Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid; grey SU marker
*Embellishments: SU Sheer Ribbon

  3. I love your one layer card. I have great difficulty with them myself. Thanks, Nancy, for leaving a message on my blog--it allowed me to take a peak at your lovely site. Yah, I am in a funk that really needs to go away. When I get in them, I usually have multi cards preloaded so I can fake my lows, but not this time. It's nice to know you'll still be around.

    Hugs,

    Beth

  5. We are dealing with lots of rain here in Iowa too Nancy - a lot of our roads are closed due to the rain over the roads. It's just terrible.
I LOVE your one layer card here! It looks just perfect ;o)

  6. We need an ark here too, let me tell ya. The water started coming into our laundry room in the basement late this morning and the end of the road is flooded out.

Cute card - it screams summer even if the weather doesn't!

I will pray you got or get some sunshine! Your one layer card is adorable! I love one layered cards, so fresh! Take care, Deb
