*Are You Ready?*

It's the night before Christmas Eve... are you ready for the chaos?  I can only imagine what the malls will look like in the morning.

I sure hope that you will spend the 24th of December with family and friends instead of braving a store for a last minute gift!

If you're at the mall, maybe you should think about starting your shopping a little earlier!

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Bazzill Bling
*Images:  Impression Obsession
*Ink:  Brilliance Moonlight White
*Embellishments:  Mark Richards Glitter Domes; unknown snowflake brads; Michael's ribbon
*Challenges:  FTL50

I'm not a huge fan of this card... it looked *so* much better in my head!

*The Wonder of Christmas*

I absolutely love this sentiment stamp... I bought it to use on the insides of cards but found myself wanting to feature it on the front of a card instead....

It says:  "may the wonder that is Christmas touch the child within your heart"

I love how Christmas makes me feel... how I believe in magic in December... how all of the sights and sounds of the season make me believe in magic.

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  PTI White; Bazzill Bling
*Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye
*Images:  Stampabilities
*Ink:  Versafine Onxy Black

I raised the verse with popdots to give it a little more depth.... next time I might emboss the white card first.

*Oh Christmas Tree*

This was one of those sets that I  bought that I never really played with... it's got a few different trees with patterns inside of them.  I decided to ignore the pattern and stamp it on to some patterned paper to create this card...

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  PTI White; Bazzill Bling
*Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye
*Images:  Kelly Panacci; Amuse
*Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
*Tools:  Big Shot; Sizzix embossing folder; Spellbinders Nestabilties
*Embellishments:  Stampin' Up! silver cord
*Challenges:  Mojo166

I love how the embossing behind the tree makes you think of snow!

*Holidays Sparkle*

I truly love Christmas....  not the mad rush of shopping and wrapping and cooking... but the trees and ornaments, the decorations, the lights, the music, the family and friends...  I think my favourites are Christmas lights and the music... and in combination it's even better!

Patterned paper can really make a card come together quickly!

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Bazzill Bling; PTI white
*Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye
*Images:  Amuse
*Ink:  VersaFine Onyx Black
*Tools:  Big Shot; Spellbinders Nestabilities

I stumbled across the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog last week in time to enter a few of my cards in their weekly challenge....  snowflakes!

How very exciting

Be sure to pop over to their blog to have a look!  You'll find their badge in my sidebar!

*Melty Snowmen*

By now you have to know about my love affair with snowmen and snowflakes....

They just make my heart happy.

This stamp is awesome because it's an acrylic stamp... and the centre is empty which means I was able to take a perfectly formed snowman and make him in to this melty creature....

*Merry and Bright with Swirls*

As you're reading this, I'm off at our bowling Christmas fun night.... it includes a potluck dinner and a couple of games of fun bowling.  Last year we didn't get the fun bowling because of how the weeks fell, we needed the week before Christmas as an actual league night.

I like fun bowling... takes the pressure off at least for a bit LOL!

*Almost Christmas*

We are just a few days away from Christmas and I still have several Christmas cards to share with you....

I have decided to schedule posts from now until Christmas to show you all of the Christmas cards I have created, and then I'm going to take a short blog break until the new year, when I'll be back with some non-holiday cards to share.

So there won't be much for chit chat on the posts... since they'll be scheduled I won't have a clue what to talk about LOL!

Your first card for today (there will be two a day I believe)....

*Warm and Cozy*

When the weather turns cold, all I want is to be warm and cozy.

You'd think that with the extra several pounds I'd have enough protection from the cold... but lately I feel chilled from the inside out more often than I feel warm and cozy.

I wear a sweater pretty much daily, and if I'm at home, I have my slippers on too.

I seriously need to retire somewhere that it's never this cold!!

And with that... a card with warm and cozy wishes....
Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! Kraft
*Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye

*More Snowmen*

I had a great time with the CalGals last night.  We did a lot of laughing, a lot of nibbling and even a little crafting!  I think everyone completed at least one card or scrapbook page.  I managed to pull out two cards, only one of them with wintry images.  Both with the same colour combination simply because those were the colours on my desk.

I love having the crafty girls over!

No big plans for today... I have a tanning appointment at 1:30 which I will go to after I take Matthew to his drum practice at 1.  I'll run back and pick him up after my appointment.  I also want to go to Michaels as I have a 50% off coupon and Merlie showed me a great new Martha Stewart punch set last night that I need to have!

And tonight we are off to our friends' annual Christmas party which is always a lot of fun with too much to eat and lots of laughs... not to mention the only eggnog I'll drink (it's home made!).  I have no idea how many days it takes her to create all of the yummy stuff she puts out!  Natalie, I appreciate your efforts but behind that, I think you're nuts LOL!

Another card of snowmen to share with you.....
Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! Kraft, Basic Black

*Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye
*Images:  Great Impressions
*Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Copic Spica; white gel pen
*Embellishments:  Stickles

I was really happy with how the image turned out on the Kraft cardstock...  I thought that highlighting the edges of the snomen and their accessories would make it stand out a little more.

*Now This is Clean and Simple!*

Today is the last Clean and Simple sketch of 2010... Natasha decided that we will take a break until the new year, which works just fine for me.

I am loving that I am a part of the team over on the Clean and Simple blog ....  I love how quickly these cards can come together and how they can be so stunning in their simplicity.

I hope you'll carve out a few minutes to play along with us this week....  the link is in my sidebar!

*Beautiful Snowflake*

My sister Heather made me buy this stamp last year....  she told me how beautiful it looked all stamped up.

She knows I have a weakness for snowmen and snowflakes.

She doesn't play fair.

This was the first time I had inked it up...
Items Used:
*Cardstock:  PTI White; Stardream
*Images:  Bo Bunny; unknown
*Ink:  Blue Encore Ultimate Metallic
*Tools:  Spellbinders Labels 5

I love the stamp... not so sure I love the card.....  I think it needed a little more oomph

I'm off to enjoy my evening... enjoy yours too!

*Penguins and Polar Bears*

Today marks Matthew's last day of school for 2010... seems so early this year (and I suppose it really is).  Alex still has school tomorrow and then they're both done until the new year.

I'm looking forward to days without an alarm clock!

I don't mind mornings... I just hate being forced out of my bed by an alarm clock!

I absolutely fell in love with this image on my shopping trip in London ON.  I still can't get over how wonderful the Stamp Art store was!  It's probably a good thing I don't live in London!
Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue, Pear Pizazz; PTI White; Bazzill
*Images:  Stampavie; Amuse
*Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Copic Spica
*Tools:  Big Shot; Snowflakes Cuttlebug embossing folder; Nestabilities

I must give credit where credit is due....  I saw the inspiration for this card on Patty's blog and had to try it for myself.  While I love this image and am pleased with it, I absolutely think that her card is perfect!

Enjoy your day!
