*Playing in Paradise #26*

It's time for another Playing in Paradise challenge over at the Scrapbookers Paradise Blog...

This week, the challenge is to use Tags, Twine and Buttons.

I'm  not a big fan of the shipping tags, which was what my mind went to when I saw "tags".... so I created a gift tag.... this is about the size of a business card and would be perfect for on a birthday present.  I never even thought to use a die cut fancy tag (I have a set by Spellbinders).  Duh!

Items Used:
*Cardstock: PTI White;  Bazill
*Images:  Hampton Art
*Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
*Embellishments:  twine from The Twinery; assorted buttons
*Challenges:  PlayingInParadise#26

I invite you join us in playing this week... simply add your card to the links at the bottom of the challenge post before midnight on Thursday for your chance to win a prize from Scrapbookers Paradise as well as a chance to play along with the Design Team in a future challenge.

Take a few minutes to check out what the rest of the Design Team has been up to...

*I'm A Colour Queen Courtier!*

No card from me today... just excited to share that my card was chosen as one of the favourites over at the ColourQ blog this past week....  the card chosen was the one where the colours just screamed summer!

I'm excited because I really really really liked that card!

*Use it Tuesday #12*

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!  It's time for another Use It Tuesday challenge!  This time we are being challenged to use TWO items from our stash... two things we haven't pulled out in a while....
Items Used:
*Cardstock: PTI White; Core'dinations;
*Images: Lizzie Anne Designs Say It In Script
*Ink: VersaMagic Tea Leaves
*Tools: Crafts Too Daisy Swirl embossing folder; Big Shot; Spellbinders Nestabilties; sanding block
*Challenges:  Use It Tuesday #12; Mojo196

My two hoarded items are the Crafts Too embossing folder and the Coredinations cardstock.  I love the embossing folder but it never seems just right for a card I am making.  But I loved that the background is almost the central focus of this design.  When Coredinations was a new product I begged the store own to carry it at the store I was working at... and I bought two sheets of every colour we carried.  And it sits there simply because I don't think to distress things too often.

Please take a little time to check out what the rest of the design team is doing...  and play along with us this week!

*Playing in Paradise #25*

It's time for another Playing in Paradise challenge over at the Scrapbookers Paradise Blog... please see my sidebar for a link to their blog!

This week, the challenge is to use the following photo as inspiration for your creation...
I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to go with this challenge, so I used the quilt idea and some of the colours.  I used a technique called Bargello which I haven't done in quite a long time.  Bargello has been adapted to card making and papercrafting from the quilting industry.  Do a Google search for directions on how to do this great technique and try it for yourself!

*Ink: Stampin' Up! Pacific Point

*Time To Create*

Now that the weather has cooled off a bit (not that I'm happy about it) I will feel a lot less guilty about spending time in my basement in my creative space.  I have been busy working on a lot of Design Team cards getting myself ahead of the game so I don't miss any deadlines.... and I need to find some time to play with the sketches and challenges I have saved on my computer.

I've given up all hope of being current on a challenge for a while.

I realized that sometimes it doesn't matter if I'm current, or even if I do them all....  I am going to pick and choose the challenges I want to do and will do them whenever there is time to do it.  Creating is supposed to be fun not always working to a deadline!

I am hoping to get some good crafting in this weekend with the temperatures below seasonal and the wind blowing outside.  I've put on a movie and the background ("Monsters Vs Aliens" for now) and I hope to get some mojo flowing....

And hopefully that will mean I remember to post to my blog more often!

I created this card back in June.... so sorry for keeping it from you for so long LOL!  This was a fun challenge from CAS-ual Fridays a few weeks ago (see link in my sidebar)... they had a 3X3 grid and each square had a different paper crafting element in it... you had to choose a line (up and down, diagonal, side to side) and use those three elements in a card.  I chose buttons, flowers and twine.
Items Used:
*Cardstock: PTI White; Stampin' Up! Almost Amethyst
*Images: Heartfelt Creations; A Muse
*Ink: Versafine Onyx Black; Stampin' Up! markers in Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink
*Embellishments: assorted buttons; twine
*Challenges:  CFC6

*Playing In Paradise #23*

I've given up on using the new design of Blogger for my blog posts....  I was having absolutely NO luck in scheduling posts... they'd either post right away or never post.  Gah!  I think that the old interface is better anyway....  things are set up more logically.

Anyway.... it's time for another Playing in Paradise challenge over at the Scrapbookers Paradise blog....  I hope you'll take some time to see what the other members of the design team cooked up as well as create a card on your own!

This week, the challenge is a sketch challenge by Allison.....  head on over to the blog (the link is in the left sidebar) to see it!

I am so sorry that I haven't been around more in the last few weeks.  I have had a lot going on in my world and in my mind and honestly, creating and blogging have been furthest from my mind.  I am working hard to get ahead on some of my Design Team challenges and will be able to create for me after a few more challenges get done.

Thankfully, I have a few minutes right now and a card that I can post!  Yay!

*Playing In Paradise #22*

I am so sorry.... I don't know why this didn't post as it was scheduled to do on Friday morning....   Not only did it not post, Blogger managed to eat the post I had written.

This week, the challenge over at the Scrapbookers Paradise blog (see the link in my sidebar) is to use stitching on your card....
Items Used:
*Cardstock: PTI White; Bazill Bling; black linen
*Images: Hampton Art
*Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
*Embellishments:  assorted beads; Anchor embroidery floss

*Tools:  Corner Chompter
*Challenges:  Playing In Paradise #22

I had fun playing with some old beading patterns....  you poke the holes using the pattern and then stitch the pattern on to the cardstock using embroidery floss and beads.

I hope you'll have some fun playing with the stitching (faux or whatever you choose) challenge this week!
