*Christmas Cards 2015 #29*

Another card with the Stampin' Up! Festival of Trees and the punch.  I used a scrap of patterned paper that I've had forever and some more of that silver glitter paper.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #28*

I wish you could see this card in real life... the sparkle is *amazing*!!!  I love love love this glitter paper!  I cut out an Impression Obsession snowflake and added a white pearl in the middle.  The sentiment is stamped on white in silver and embossed with Stampin' Up! Iridescent Ice embossing powder. That stamp was one I bought near the beginning of my papercrafting journey.... the rubber is getting a little hard, but I still love it

*Christmas Cards 2015 #27*

I am so far behind on all of my Christmas preparations.  I've done hardly any shopping, I've done no baking, I'm still trying to finish making my cards....  And shockingly I'm not freaking out about it (at least not yet).

I have been thinking about decorating the house... but then think about the 8 month old puppy and think we'll have to have everything secured to keep it safe.  Sigh.
I purchased the Stampin' Up! Festival of Trees and the tree punch and it arrived about a week ago.  I've been having a great time playing with them both.  I have a lot of ideas swirling in my head right now....

*Christmas Cards 2015 #26*

This card and the one from a few days ago, started out being the same but reverse for the snowflake.  But then I decided to turn this one on it's side.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #25*

OMG this card!  So much sparkle!  I started with a white card.  I cut the Creative Expressions Let it Snow die twice...  once out of white shimmer cardstock, the second time out of blue shimmer cardstock.  I attached it to a piece of silver glitter cardstock, used my Perfect Layers tool to create the blue layer and then put it all on the white card.  So much sparkle!  (oh wait, I said that already)

*Christmas Cards 2015 #24*

Another card that looked better in my head....  a swirl tree by Memory Box cut out of red mirror cardstock and put on a white card.  I added the sentiment and rounded the corners, then added some bling to the tree.  Maybe it needs a ribbon?

*Christmas Cards 2015 #23*

More of that wonderful Heidi Swapp glitter paper.  It came in a 8X8 stack from Michaels and was with her Marquee display.  I cut out the snowflake from a Stampin' Up! Sizzix die, put it on an embossed white layer, layered it on the blue glitter paper and then on a white card.  I'm not sure about the sentiment in black, though....

*Christmas Cards 2015 #22*

I started this card while I was in Ontario at the first retreat.... but couldn't finish it as I didn't have any silver embossing powder with me.  Just having this great Memory Box snowflake die cut in the beautiful glitter cardstock had me in love with this card.... unfortunately, the addition of the sentiment killed it a bit for me.  I might have to try another....

*Christmas Cards 2015 #21*

I've had these Memory Box dies since last year, but never used them before.  I thought I was buying the plain shape in the same size as the swirl ornament but when they arrived, I realized I was wrong.  Last year I was just disappointed... this year I decided to play with them!

I cut the dies out of a champagne colour and a red mirror cardstock.  I attached the ribbon to the back of the ornaments and wrapped them around the embossed layer.  I made sure to only emboss part of the white layer so that I could stamp on it.  I then added a layer of red mirror card and then put it on a white card.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #20*

I've been creating some more since I got home from the two retreats in Ontario.  But of course, being home means there are more commitments.... family, cooking, laundry, work, shopping.....  But I'm trying!
This card isn't perfect....  but it's pretty good.  It's hard to get a good photo with this great sparkle paper by Heidi Swapp.  This is a die by Creative Expressions, layered on to gold paper, then back on the green sparkle and then on a white card embossed with a swirl embossing folder.

I liked this card enough to make 8 of them total.  I used what I could of this great glittered patterned paper that I got in a Michael's stack years ago.  I still have some little pieces left that I will try to use.  It's one of my favourites.  I layered the patterned paper on to a kraft card and added the Frantic Stamper Holly Joy die cut out of the white Heidi Swapp sparkle paper.  I added some red stickles to the berries.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #19*

Two more cards for you today....
A very simple design... maybe too simple... this beautiful die cut snowflake accented with some Frosted Lace Stickles and layered on to a white card.
Once again some old patterned paper from my stash.  I added some blue shimmer cardstock from Paper Trey and a strip of silver shimmer paper from a stack from Michaels last year.  Once again I used that great snowflake die in a lighter blue shimmer cardstock.

Can you tell I have a thing for snowflakes?

*Christmas Cards 2015 #18*

Another with this wonderful Frantic Stamper die.... once again cut twice, once in green and once in red.  I popped the JOY with pop dots and used red Stickles on the berries.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #17*

This first card was one of those cards that sat in stages for more than a day.  I used a Memory Box die to cut out the circles in white, red and green and then took the time to play with the red and green to create the focal point of the card.  I cut part of the main die off of what is on the car to make it fit.  I added a snowflake die and some red Stickles.
This card uses some really old patterned paper I had in my stash as well as this beautiful Inkadinkadoo snowman stamped in Encore blue metallic ink and embossed in blue pearl embossing powder

*Christmas Cards 2015 #16*

This first card is stamped on the white card base with encore blue metallic ink and embossed in blue pearl embossing powder (I LOVE this combination).  I added some blue pearls and some ribbon.
I embossed the dots on the kraft cardstock and ran my white ink over them to make them look like snow.  I love these little penguins, coloured up with some Copics.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #15*

Two snowflake cards for you today...
This card is all done in silver and white.... some old patterned paper, silver Stampin' Up! paper... I added some stickles to the snowflake as it was just too flat without it (I made this card before I bought that great glitter paper... I should make another using it!)
This one was easy and quick....  stamped the snowflake and sentiment in black, added some red Stickles and a layer of red to help it pop.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #14*

I'm not in love with either of these... they're OK but not my favourites.
I saw the idea for the patterned paper on the corner on Pinterest somewhere but couldn't find it again when I went to make the card, so I had no idea how to finish it off.  It took me a while to come up with this.
I love this snowman image... he's just so freakin' jolly! I added some Washi Tape to make the white cardstock a little more interesting.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #13*

I absolutely LOVE this card... but can't take full credit for it.  As with many of my cards, I found inspiration on Pinterest.
This is a great Memory Box die that I cut out twice and layered on to a white card.  I stamped the sentiment in Encore Metallic blue ink and embossed it with the blue pearl embossing powder.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #12*

More clean and simple cards for you....
I again used that great Stampendous Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel to create the snow effect on this card.  I coloured the image with some Copics and added some Wink of Stella in clear to the snowballs.
This is an old Stampin' Up! image coloured with Copic Spica pens for some shimmer.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #11*

I'm sharing three today.... but that's cuz I don't love one of them....
I stamped this simple snowflake in white on the kraft cardstock and embossed it with Stampin' Up! Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  I stamped the merry on to patterned paper and cut it out and then put it on the card and then stamped the "and bright" in white and embossed it with white embossing powder.
I bought these great Impression Obsession snowflake dies after borrowing them from someone else at one of the retreats.  So delicate and pretty!
Once again with the Frantic Stamper die....  I added some die cut snowflakes as well and then used self adhesive pearls in the centres of the snowflakes as well as on the holly berries.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #10*

Once again, so very quick and easy....
I borrowed a stamp from my sister for this card....  great little tree with different Christmas themed images in it.  Layered it all with some gold Stampin' Up! paper
I used that wonderful Frantic Stamper die again... this time I cut it twice... once in red mirror cardstock and once in gold mirror cardstock.  I coloured the berries of the holly with Stickles

*Christmas Cards 2015 #9*

I really went the clean and simple route this year.... at least so far.....
I embossed the snowflakes on to a shimmer cardstock from PaperTrey ink for this card... and heat embossed the Encore Metallic blue ink with silver pearl embossing powder.  I didn't have blue bling with me so I coloured these pearls with my Copics.
The tree is punched out of some old paper I used many years ago (I had some scraps left) using a Stampin' Up punch.  I added the strip of the simmer blue paper from a stack I bought at Michael's last year.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #8*

This card was so quick and easy....  some patterned paper from a very old stack from Michaels and a Memory Box snowflake cut out of both white and red cardstock.  Add a green layer to help it all pop.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #7*

I really did have a great time making cards over those two weekends in October....
Not much to say on this one.... some patterned paper from an old stack from Michaels and a die cut snowflake by Memory Box.
I love this stamp but don't use it very often.... it says Jingle your own damn bells!  LOL!

*Christmas Cards 2015 #6*

Two cards for you today.... both snowflakes....
For this card, I started with using an embossing folder on a piece of acetate.  What a great look!  I then took some chip board snowflakes and embossed them several times in white and then added a layer of Stampin' Up! Iridescent Ice embossing powder
This card is one layer....  I used a great Memory Box die on mirror cardstock (silver and red) to create the snowflakes and added a Peel Off sticker that I coloured with a red Copic for the sentiment.  Add a little ribbon and voila!

*Christmas Cards 2015 #5*

I completely LOVE this die from Frantic Stamper.... This is just one of the cards I created with this awesome die....  I used more of that wonderful silver glitter paper as well....

*Christmas Cards 2015 #4*

I think I LOVE Stamp Art in London Ontario... I buy a lot there every fall....  this year I also bought this great embossing powder from Stampendous called Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel.  This is a very coarse ground embossing powder that is great for creating snow.  I sprinkled it on the front of my card and heated it from behind to create the look of snow.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #3*

Two snowflake cards for you today....

You can't see it so much on this card, but the paper behind the die cut image is this great glitter paper that I picked up at Stamp Art in London Ontario... I really should have bought more!!
I bought this great set of snowflake dies at Stamp Art that have "recipes" for different snowflake looks on the back.  The dies are by Leane Creatief.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #2*

I'm back with another Christmas card that I created...  a great image I coloured with Copics. I used some die cut snowflakes for some dimension.  Looking at it now, I think I should have put a layer behind the front panel to make it pop.

*Christmas Cards 2015 #1*

I don't honestly know if anyone ever comes here anymore.... but I hope people do!

I've found that my time to create has dwindled a lot since I started working.  I love my job and wouldn't change that... but I find myself with other things to do on my days off.  Sometimes I'll come down to my craft space but will just sit there and not be creative.

But all of that changes at Christmas... I have always LOVED making Christmas cards.

I got started a little earlier this year as I was in Ontario visiting my sister in October and went to two different paper crafting retreats.  I got a good start on my Christmas cards that these retreats... and had a blast to boot!

So here I am.... sharing what I've made for 2015....

For this card, I used some of that wonderful shimmer paper from Michael's that I bought last year.  I just absolutely love it!

Again, some of that shimmer paper along with an embossing folder and some sparkly ribbon.
