*2017 Christmas Cards #29*

Such a cute little penguin...  I used some patterned paper I bought *forever* ago and added it to a blue card.  A little sparkle paper too and voila!

*2017 Christmas Cards #28*

I received the PEACE die from My Favorite Things, which was part of their November release, as a freebie with one of my orders (I LOVE that they do that!).  I cut it out of a silver shimmer paper and put it on top of a dry embossed snowflake background.  I added it to a red card and added some red stickles to the embossed layer for a little pop!

*2017 Christmas Cards #27*

Another card, totally stolen from Pinterest...  I pinned this last year and just decided to play with it this year.

*2017 Christmas Cards #26*

I saw a birthday card on Pinterest a while back and decided to make a similar card, but as a Christmas card.  I love this sentiment set from My Favorite Things....  so pretty!

*2017 Christmas Cards #25*

I fell in love with this die from Concord & 9th.... and of course had to get the stamp set to go with it.  The background is this neat stamp from Concord & 9th that you use with your Misti (or other stamp tool) and stamp it once, then turn your cardstock and stamp again... and continue until you have done all four sides of the cardstock.  I then coloured it up, cut it to size and added the double banner die on top.

*2017 Christmas Cards #23*

I spent a weekend earlier in November with some of my favourite crafty friends... we spent from Friday at 9am until Sunday at 4pm together at a hotel, crafting, laughing and having a grand old time.  I am so happy I was able to take a little break from my chemo so that I would feel well enough to go visit my sister and niece and spend some crafty time with friends.

While there, I made another 20+ Christmas cards.  This is a huge feat for me as I do not craft well away from home.  At least with Christmas cards you can choose some patterned papers and match ink and cardstock to that... then grab some stamps, dies, embellishments etc and pack it all up!

This card came together easily....  some colouring, patterned paper and a few layers

*Birthday Rainbow*

An interruption to the Christmas cards.... I had to make a birthday card a few days ago for a friend.  I took a leaf image from a CTMH From the Heart set and stamped it in a circle repeatedly with Catherine Pooler inks.  I added the sentiment from Lawn Fawn stamped in black ink and cut out with a stitched circle by My Favorite Things and used a pop dot to put it over the rainbow circle.  I added it all to a blue card and voila!

*2017 Christmas Cards #22*

I saw a card like this on Justine Hovey's blog and loved it... but I don't own any of the stuff to doing foiling so I got a little creative.

I inked up the background stripes with Rockin' Red Catherine Pooler ink in my MISTI and then inked it up again with Versamark ink and embossed it in clear.  I did the same with the words by My Favorite Things.  I then used the My Favorite Things stitched circles to cut out the sentiment as well as a black layer and layered everything on to a white card.  I added a white Impression Obsession snowflake and coloured over it with a clear Wink of Stella pen.

*2017 Christmas Cards #21*

I love how this card turned out... this Stampin' Up! snowflake embossing folder is so awesome!  I embossed it on a white panel and layered some silver glitter paper behind it (thanks Perfect Layers Tools!)... and then on to a white card.  I cut the Catherine Pooler JOY out of silver glitter paper and also did three layers in white and layered them all together to give the piece some dimension.  My plan was to just put the JOY on the snowflake, but I had this sparkly tree sitting on my desk so I thought I'd see how it looked behind the JOY.... and boom!

This would be a great card for mass producing

*2017 Christmas Cards #20*

I go the idea for this card from a card I found on Pinterest.  You can see the original here.  I love Ardyth's blog and her card style!

I used a piece of Stampin' Up! paper on the inside of a card and cut the front of the card 1.5" shorter than the back.  I added a Stampin'Up tree punched out of old patterned paper and added a Lawn Fawn sentiment.

*2017 Christmas Cards #19*

I created another wreath using the elements from one of the sets in the most recent Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval box.  I used Grass Skirt and Lime Rickey and added the berries with Rockin' Red.  I stamped the My Favorite Things sentiment with Rockin' Red as well.  I cut it all out with a My Favourite Things stitched circle die.  I added a scrap of patterned paper on to a red card and a strip of silver edged white ribbon (adhered only in the centre under the circle) for a little sparkle.

*2017 Christmas Cards #18*

I finally used the second "merry" that I cut out a few years ago using a die my sister bought.  It's seriously been sitting on my stamp table for a few years, just waiting for me to do something with it.  I cut two and this year I finally used them both!  I might have to cut some more LOL!

This card was quick and easy.... the Merry is cut out of red glitter paper and added the word Christmas stamped in Grass Skirt Catherine Pooler ink.  I cut down the white panel and layered it on to a red card base.

I think I should have made it a landscape card instead of a portrait one, but I'm trying to embrace the white space.

*2017 Christmas Cards #17*

There's a lot of sparkle on this card.  I embossed the front panel using the Stampin Up! Snowflake embossing folder on Bazzill shimmer white cardstock.  I used my Perfect Layers Tool to create the border out of blue glitter paper and put it all on a white card.  I then stamped the greeting (by Catherine Pooler) in Catherine Pooler ink and cut it out (as well as a blue glitter circle) with the My Favorite Things stitched circle.  I put the two circles together and put them on the card front with pop dots.

*2017 Christmas Cards #16*

I had some fun playing with the Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval set.

I started out drawing a circle in the centre of the card with a pencil and I stamped the three different images in Catherine Pooler Ink (Grass Skirt, Lime Rickey and Rockin' Red)  around the circle.  I stamped the sentiment and used the My Favorite Things stitched circle to cut it out and added pop dots on the back to adhere it to the front panel.  I used my Perfect Layers Tool to create a perfect 1/16th" border in red and layered it all on to a white card.

You can't see it in the photo but I added some Wink of Stella in clear on the sentiment for just a little sparkle.

*2017 Christmas Cards #15*

I bought this GinaK die and completely forgot I had it in my stash... until I was digging through my dies looking for something else.  And my heart skipped a beat... I cut the die out of white cardstock and layered it on a white card that I adhered some blue glitter paper to.  I added a few sparkly silver Impression Obsession snowflakes and a Lawn Fawn sentiment.  I think I might be in love....

*2017 Christmas Cards #14*

Yet another freebie from My Favorite Things with another order I did this fall... it's a set of three snowflakes that came all attached to each other (from the manufacturing process).  I hadn't cut them apart yet so I used them all attached together.  I cut them out of a piece of white cardstock and added a piece of blue glitter paper behind them.  I finished off the card with a sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps and some glittered pearls in the centres of the snowflakes.

*2017 Christmas Cards #13*

I got this great PEACE die as a freebie from My Favorite Things with a recent order and wanted to play with the eclipse technique with it.  It didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped... I'll have to try again.

*2017 Christmas Cards #12*

Yup, another snowflake card.  Seriously, I have a problem....

I used more of the My Favorite Things snowflakes cut out of silver mirror card and layered them together (again, there are three layers on this card).  I wrapped the ribbon around the card and secured it with double sided tape in the centre before using pop dots to adhere the snowflake.  I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment in silver Encore Metallic ink and embossed it with silver embossing powder.

*2017 Christmas Cards #11*

I am in LOVE with the new snowflake embossing folder from Stampin' Up!  It gives such a great deep impression and is just a beautiful snowflake.  I look forward to making more cards with this embossing folder.

I embossed it on a white panel and added some My Favorite Things snowflakes cut out of silver mirror card and layered together (there are three layered together).  I added a white ribbon with silver edges around the layer and put it all on a light blue card.

I think I have a thing for snowflakes (OK, I KNOW I have a thing for snowflakes...)

*2017 Christmas Cards #10*

This card come together with pieces that were sitting on my craft table.  I had die cut extras of all of these pieces and while I was sitting and chatting with my friend Bonnie, this card just sort of came together.  Some Impression Obsession snowflakes in white and a shimmer blue, the Let it Snow and the ornament die are from an unknown source.

I added Stickles to the centres of the snowflakes to add a little sparkle!

*2017 Christmas Cards #9*

I did some sponging of the three shades of blue Catherine Pooler inks a few days ago on a piece of white cardstock.  I wanted to ensure it was dry before I started embossing snowflakes on it so I put it aside for a while.  I stamped and embossed some beautiful My Favorite Things snowflakes and then cut up the piece of cardstock in to 2" wide panels.  I made two cards like this.

I bought this Art Impressions penguin set (complete with a die to cut this guy out) last year and never inked it up...  I coloured him with Copics and used pop dots to attach him to the front of the card.

The sentiment is my LawnFawn.

*2017 Christmas Cards #8*

Another card using all Catherine Pooler inks and stamps.  Well, almost.  I stamped the ornament background in Versamark and embossed it in white.  I did a watercolour wash over top of it using four different shades of CP inks.  I used the darker blue to colour a piece of white cardstock and stamped the greetign (which you can't really see in this photo) in Versa Mark ink.

Once again, I cut the panel down (about 2.5") and added it to the centre of my card.

And once again, big thanks to another card on Pinterest!

*2017 Christmas Cards #7*

I had fun with this card....  I first traced a circle with a light pencil line on a piece of white cardstock.  I then used Grass Skirt ink (Catherine Pooler) and put one layer of the pine bough around the circle.  I then went back with Lime Rickey ink (also CP) in between each of the pine boughs I stamped in the first round.  I originally stamped the holly berries but ended up putting Stickles on them instead.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre with Rockin' Red (yup CP).  I took a piece of scrap left over from my friend Bonnie's card where she had stamped the Catherine Pooler candy stripe background in Rockin' Red.  I added that to the left side of the panel and put it all on top of a white card with foam tape.  All images are Catherine Pooler.

*2017 Christmas Cards #6*

I started out with just the Catherine Pooler background stamp... I was playing around with different ways of embossing it.  For this one, I used VersaMark ink and Stampin' Up! Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  I cut it down, added a red shimmer layer behind it (cut with thanks to my Perfect Layers Tool) and then put it on a top folding white card.

I cut the believe die out of the same red shimmer cardstock and did the shadow of the word in vellum, which you can't really see in the photo.

So much shimmer in the light!

*2017 Christmas Cards #5*

I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and wanted to try it for myself.  The original card was done in white, gold and red... and I'm not much of a gold person so I did silver, white and blue instead.  The die cut is by Memory Box and I used the same silver shimmer paper behind the white square.  I added the sentiment (Lawn Fawn) in blue Encore Metallic ink and embossed it with blue pearl embossing powder.  One little gem in the centre of the snowflake to finish it off

*2017 Christmas Cards #4*

I'm really not sure how I feel about this card....  it's not bad, I kind of like it.... but I wonder if it needs something.

I bought the die from someone but have no idea what brand it is.  The snowflake frame is the three snowflakes in the same blue as the frame.  I added a few Impression Obsession snowflakes cut out of more shimmer cardstock.  I started out with the Let It Snow cut out of white shimmer cardstock, but it didn't stand out enough so I layered the same blue as the frame on top of it.  I also added this great little acrylic snowflake to the edge of the frame... sadly you can barely see it in the photo.

*2017 Christmas Cards #3*

I fell in love with this card when I created it....

I started with a strip of white cardstock that was 5 1/2" X 2" and I sponged on three different shades of blue ink (Catherine Pooler).  Once it was dry, I stamped some Impression Obsession snowflakes on the panel with VersaMark ink.  Once again, I let it dry and then stamped the two pieces of the sentiment (Simon Says Stamp) in black VersaFine ink.  I then added a white My Favorite Things snowflake die cut with a little touch of silver Stickles in the centre.

I had originally thought I'd use the panel on the card but with the other orientation of the card so I left a little white border along the edge....  when I started designing I didn't like it... so I turned the card and added some silver Wink of Stella along that white edge to make it silver and sparkly

At first I worried that there was too much white space... but the more I look at it, the more I like it.

*2017 Christmas Cards #2*

Another quick and easy Christmas card for you....  I have no idea who the die is by as I bought it used without packaging.  But it's a great snowflake ornament!  I cut it out of a blue shimmer Bazill cardstock and added a silver cord through the hole to make it look like it's hanging.  I layered the panel on to a piece of the same blue shimmer Bazill cardstock and then on to a white card with foam tape.  I added a sentiment stamped in silver Encore Metallic ink and a few "snow-like" sequins to finish it all off.

*2017 Christmas Cards #1*

It's the most wonderful time of the year.... yup, time to play with my Christmas Stash!  I truly LOVE making Christmas cards.  And this year I bought a lot of new stuff to play with!  I am so excited to be playing with it all and creating cards!

This card uses a die cut that I did from a die my sister showed me a few years ago.  I die cut a few of them out of red sparkle cardstock and then did nothing with them... until this card.  I glued it to the front of a white card.  I then cut out some snowflakes from My Favorite Things from white cardstock and glued them to the front of the card.  I added some red stickles in the centres of the snowflakes for  a little pizazz.

Posts will be more often during the holiday card making season, since I will be making several.  I hope you enjoy them!

*Colour on Kraft*

I wanted to create on the day I made this card... but I spent literally hours in my craft space with no ideas that I really wanted to execute.  I found a few cards where people had used coloured pencils on kraft cardstock and I thought I'd like to see what happens with my Copics on kraft.  The colours are quite muted in comparison to the coloured pencils....

I coloured the flowers and cut them out with the Scan N Cut and then didn't know what to do with them.

So I adhered them to the front of a kraft card, popped up the middle flower a bit and stamped the sentiment on the front.  Not my favourite card, but not horrible either.
