Tracy, over at Tracy's Happy Place, hosted an altered container contest over the last few weeks. I really wanted to do a DVD tin but didn't have any left after making a bunch at Christmas. I decided to try to make a Coaster Box with a hinged lid instead.
The box is pretty easy to make... just takes time gluing the sides together and on to the base. I only did two sides at a time and then propped them up while they dried. The Primas are along the bottom on all four sides.
Unfortunately, I didn't place in the top 3, but I am very pleased with how my creation turned out.
Take a peek at the winners over at Tracy's blog... I'm sure the judging wasn't easy for Tracy and her husband Allen!
items used:
*Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
*Embellishments: pewter letters (unknown source), grosgrain ribbon, Prima Flowers, Bling
I still love your box.Especially all those Primas!! It was *VERY* tough...but fun too!
ReplyDeleteLove the box Nancy! I haven't entered any contests yet, I am too soft hearted for that! Kudos to you for trying, I think the box is great, and it's covered in my favorite paper!!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This post was so terrific we included it in our latest Blog Carnival on Craft Critique! In fact we included two of your posts!
ReplyDeleteWe would love it if you'd "share the link love" and let your readers know about the Altered Items Carnival on Craft Critique... but we don't require it.
Of course if you'd rather not have your link included in the carnival then just let us know and we will remove it.
Thanks for creating something so wonderful and sharing it on your blog! :)
