WOW, did it feel good to not only be feeling better, but to be able to find some time to craft! I started to feel better on Thursday afternoon and today I am back in full force. Tonight Matthew was playing with a friend and Alex and Bruce were skiing so I took some time to go down to my stamp space to play... after first heading to Michael's where I bought the "Olivia" Alphabet and the "Happy Birthday" Embossing Folder for my Cuttlebug. I love 40% off Coupons (thanks Denise!!)!
This card involved absolutely no stamping at all. It is all done with my Cuttlebug! What is a Cuttlebug? Well, it's a product made by Provocraft, sold at Michaels ($109 in Canada, regular price) that does die-cuts and dry embossing. For this card, I used the D'vine Swirl Embossing Folder and one of the extras from the Olivia Alphabet. My colours are Whisper White, Basic Black and Cranberry Crisp. To attach the thanks to the Cranberry tag I used my new Sakura Quickie Glue Pen (seen at The Frantic Stamper but I bought mine at Paper Pastimes here in Calgary). What a great pen... like a gel pen, but it's glue! Very cool!
I added bling to the centres of each of the flowers (Swarovski Crystals from Outlines Rubberstamps). I punched out small circles from my black cardstock to layer behind the flowers. I also added my favourite Sakura Stardust clear gel pen to the thanks as well as the black outline behind the Cranberry layer.
I am very pleased with how my first card of 2007 turned out... I hope you like it too!
I absolutely love this card! So simple, but so elegant. Well done, Nancy! I just might have to get me one... lol
