*{BYSHC} Sketch #69*

There is a wonderful new sketch over on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog... we are encouraging you to use our sketches to help build up your stash of Holiday cards so that you don't feel like you're in a mad rush to get them done later in the year!

I had fun with the sketch this month...  todays card is a lot more playful than the one you'll see later this month.  I had fun with a brand new die I purchased and some paper that has been sitting in my stash for quite a while.

*{BYSHC} Sketch #68*

Happy April, creative friends!  A new months means there's a new sketch to inspire your Christmas Cards at Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers!

I cheated a bit with my first card...  I saw this patterned paper in my stash and I thought it fit the sketch absolutely perfectly!  And honestly, I wasn't sure what I'd ever use it for!  I added some navy blue element to the card and a simple stamped and die cut sentiment to finish it off.

*My Favorite Instagram Hop*

This week for the My Favorite Instagram Hop we were challenged to pay with our favourite thing that we will miss about winter...  LET ME BE CLEAR.... I will miss NOTHING about winter!  I hate the lack of daylight hours and long hours of darkness.  I dislike the cold and the wind.  The snow looks pretty but it's a lot of work to shovel it.  I get so frustrated with slippery streets.  Here in Calgary, March is historically our snowiest month of the year so I'm not missing anything about winter yet!

But... all that being said... I LOVE snowflakes.  I think they are beautiful.  So beautiful that I have a tattoo of snowflakes.  If we could get snowflakes (and snowmen) without everything else, I'd be OK with that.

Card Info
*Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! Basic Black; vellum
*Paper:  Simple Stories Winter Wonder
*Dies:  Memory Box Jolly Snowflake Trio; Stampin' Up! Peace & Joy

*Pattern Paper Instagram Hop*

Today is the Pattern Paper Instagram Hop... Our theme is "chilly".  I didn't want to make a Christmas card even though that is where all of my thoughts went at first.  Instead I created a friendship card with a chilly (and warm) theme.

*Atlantic Hearts Sketch #657*

Another fabulous sketch from Atlantic Hearts to play with this week.

I chose to play with an idea I saw on Instagram where you take two papers, cut them in to even rectangles and then cut those rectangles in half to create two quilted panels.  I used all papers from one paper pack as well as a simple stamped sentiment.

*{BYSHC} Sketch #62*

Happy October, my creative friends!  I am here today as part of the design team for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers challenge!  Each month, we post a sketch and challenge you to make a few Christmas cards to help build up your stash and relieve the stress that happens as we get closer and closer to Christmas!

Here is the sketch for October!

Canada Post was on strike last year leading up to Christmas so I didn't send any of the huge pile of Christmas cards I'd made over the year.  I gave several by hand delivering them, but I still have a bunch of cards from last year.  And I've been adding to my stash by a few each month since then.  I'm going to have way too many Christmas cards!  But I won't stop making them because my Christmas stash is my favourite part of my stash.

Oh... and did I mention that postal workers walked off the job again last week?  I wonder if I'll be sending Christmas cards this year...

My card for you today was super simple to put together thanks to a fabulous 6X6 paper pad... Everything but the pink cardstock (and my card base) came from that paper pack!

*My Favourite Instagram Hop*

I've joined in the fun with a brand new Instagram Hop where, each month, we make a card with a prompt word...  each month these have a theme of "my favourite..."  for October, it's "my favourite fall drink".

OK, let's be honest, I drink the same things, day in and day out, no matter the weather.  I don't drink a lot of hot drinks as I don't find them refreshing.  I like diet pop.  Sometimes water.  Sometimes a little booze.  Once in a while, on a chilly day, I will pull out a tea or a hot chocolate.  But that's pretty seldom.

For my card today, I decided to do a hot chocolate... and it could be a winter wishes or a Christmas card... what do you think?
