I struggle with this Instagram Hop... my sense of humour is usually kinda dark and sweary instead of light and fun. I hope that this brings and giggle...
For this week, the challenge for the My Favourite Instagram Hop was my favourite dairy product. I wonder how many of us chose to use ice cream LOL!
It's a celebration theme for the Rediscovery Instagram Hop this month... we are all using items from our stash to create a card using this common theme. I used some cardstock colours I don't reach for every often (although you saw them earlier this week) and a butterfly I bought ages ago. I already had the strips of cardstock on my desk thanks to my rainbow card earlier this week so it made sense to use them for this challenge...

I almost didn't play along with the This or That Instagram Hop this week... I didn't think I had any horse or cow themed items in my stash. While looking for something else, I came upon a stamp set that I was gifted a few years ago that I forgot I had! I had both a cow and a horse to choose from.
Each month, a group of us post rainbow inspired cards on Instagram... not actual rainbows, but the colours of the rainbow... and we attempt to make our card as clean and simple as possible. For this month, I was inspired by how these colours POP when paired with black...
I started with a small black panel and I cut out the silhouette leaves. I added strips of cardstock to the card base and then put the black panel on top of it with foam adhesive.

I put a fun little twist on my card following this sketch. I started with a postcard instead of a folded card and added the side strips of patterned paper. In the centre, I added a black panel and then a folded white card... so just the centre white panel opens up.

This sketch was SUPER intimidating to me... until I finally got started with it. I could see doing this one again, maybe with an embossed background cut in to squares.
For this card, I used one piece of patterned paper and I cut it in to squares and was sure to put them back together so that the pattern lines up. For the tree, instead of die cutting it out of the gold and layering it on the white, I cut it out of the white and layered that negative panel on to a square of gold.
The choices for this weeks' This or That Instagram Hop were "sweet" or "salty".... I don't have much for food based items so I wasn't going to participate... but I was thinking about it one night and I had an "a-ha" moment... sweet or salty as in nice or snarky! As a big shock, I did "sweet"...

I had a few things I could choose from... and I almost went with something different... but I landed on this design with those gorgeous Pinkfresh washi tape butterflies. Butterflies are special to me as I believe that when one comes near me, it is my Mom (who passed away in 2010) saying "hello".

I started with a sun inspired piece of patterned paper and added the daisies to the card... I added some smiley faces to the centres of each flower as they made me think of the sunshines I would draw as a child (and I always included a smiley face!).
I joined a new monthly Instagram Hop where we make Christmas cards each month... this month our theme was Reindeer!
I chose to use both a reindeer patterned paper and a gorgeous gold die cut reindeer for my creation...

I make a lot of birthday cards, so this shouldn't have been a difficult challenge for me. But I honestly had creative block the day I sat down to create this card. I decided to pull out a die cut I had done at my sisters a year ago and then struggled with it LOL. I think part of it is that I haven't been making a lot of clean and simple cards lately... I've been doing a lot more cards that aren't clean and simple! It took me a while, but I came up with this clean and simple design. I have no ink colours for you for the ink blending as I just used whatever leftover ink was on a few of my blending brushes.
