I chose the words white, corner, sparkle and emboss... yup, I went overboard LOL!
I have had a whirlwind last few days with work, new windows being installed at the house (and while I wasn't home for most of it, it still felt very disruptive), bowling, a bowling tournament, putting my craft room back together (after the windows were finished), laundry, cleaning after the window install and an impromptu Grey Cup Party at my house tonight, I am feeling very discombobulated.
I really wanted to create today once I got my craft room back in order... but there were other little things that needed my attention. Tomorrow will be a write off of a day for creating so hopefully I will find some time and mojo on Tuesday.
Anyway, between loads of laundry and running to the store and prepping some food, I created a card following the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.
Happy Saturday, Creative friends! It's time for the CASE It Instagram Hop... each month, a group of us chooses any card we've seen on Instagram and we use it as an inspiration piece to make something of our own. Sometimes we completely copy the idea, sometimes we use it as a jumping off point.
For today, I was inspired by a card I saw by Vicki Dutcher.

I loved the embossing on the blue, the shade of blue, the pop of white... instead of using leaves, I used snowflakes... and instead of a die cut sentiment, I went with a simple stamped one instead. I also changed up the shade of blue (although I really love the colour she used!)
Time Out Challenges has been really challenging me this year! There have been so many prompts and themes that are outside of my wheelhouse. I can skip, but I don't like to do it too often. So for todays card I had to stretch it more than a little.
I know that there are stamps out there that I could have used, but nothing that I have in my stash. And I don't want to buy items for my stash that I will use once in a blue moon (I am a little frugal with my stash spending I guess). I thought about Star Wars and along with the title image (like the graphic above), my first thought was the opening sequence with the stars and the open black space... I created my stars on black cardstock with a white gel pen and an Aqua Shimmer pen.
Happy New Year crafty friends! I haven't spent a lot of time in my craft room since we got home from vacation at the beginning of December. I had a lot of Christmas preparation to do! And then, when I did have time to be creative, the mojo had disappeared. I managed a little time in the creative space on New Years Day but the creativity was fighting me. I managed to get a couple of cards done...
Good thing too, since it's time for a new challenge at Time Out!
I don't send out New Years cards so I decided to take a little liberty with the prompt and used some new craft supplies! I won this fabulous winter snowflake set from GinaK back in November (thanks KeightKrafts!) I decided to use this set since our sponsor for this challenge is GinaK!
It's time for a new challenge with the team at CAS on Friday... for the next two weeks, the challenge is to create a clean and simple card that is black and white with only one other colour.
I recently saw a card that had white snowflakes on a black background so I wanted to play with that idea. To make my snowflakes stand out a little more, I layered two snowflakes together before I put them on my black card panel. I splattered some shimmer on top of that black panel as well. I added a pop of blue sparkle paper and then on to a white card.
It's time for another challenge with the team at CAS on Friday! This was an easy challenge for me... CHRISTMAS! I just love making Christmas cards!
