*My Life Is Changing*

I mentioned in a post last week that there was other stuff going on in my world lately... and I think it's time to share. I have decided that it is time for me to take a break from the Scrapbook Pantry so I have quit my job. I have been there since before the store opened (January 2008) and have learned so much about the paper crafting industry and about the retail world. I have also met a lot of wonderful people through my job.

I am planning on spending more time creating as well as taking time to take care of myself... I'd really like to lose the weight I gained after my Dad died 3 years ago. It's time to get out walking the 'hood again, working out at the gym and keeping an eye on what I eat.

So, that's how my life is changing.... nothing too dramatic or crazy, but a change all the same.

For those who are wondering, my last day of work is April 2nd.

Cheers

*A Cricut Card*

Happy Monday Morning all... sunny day in Calgary and warming up a bit. Perhaps we'll get rid of some of the snow that fell before I woke up on Sunday morning. We got about 4"... that's three Saturday night/Sunday morning snow storms in four weeks

MAKE IT STOP!

I enjoyed my quiet weekend for the most part... I had a few times during the weekend that I was bored and missing my family, but for the most part I enjoyed having my own schedule and time to myself. I made a total of 7 cards this weekend... a lot for me these days. One of them was one I dreamed up all on my own without a challenge or seeing one like it somewhere else.

This was the last card I made for my class at the Scrapbook Pantry earlier this month. It's like the card I made here, but since the store doesn't sell the SU Word Windo Punch and didn't have any flowers in stock that would work, I decided to do it all with the Cricut. I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge that came with my Expressions.

We had some fun sanding our Core'dinations cardstock and making a bit of a mess. I changed the card up a bit for the class but don't have a photo... we added a smaller black flower on top of the flower and bling to the tops and bottoms of the red ovals.

I'm outta here.... enjoy your day!

*Longest Week in Recorded History*

Happy Friday morning everyone! I thought we were at Friday a few days ago, so I'm happy to announce it's finally here. I don't know what caused it, but this week seemed to crawl by. On Tuesday I was convinced it was Thursday.... felt like I had done so much and that it had to be Thursday already. The whole week felt like that!

Had some bad news on Wednesday... my Mom's best friend passed away. This is a family that I grew up with, knew well. Auntie Donna was a warm, vibrant, funny and fun woman, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

I'm playing the role of a single woman for the weekend... Bruce and the boyz left for the mountains yesterday to spend some time with my mother in law and her husband at their time share condo. I am enjoying a quiet (and clean) house.... although I will admit that it feels a little weird to wake up in a quiet house! I am looking forward to my stamping gals joining me to play tonight!

A few other things going on in my world as well... but we'll leave that for another day....

I created this card as part of my April class at the Scrapbook Pantry. We used a great clear stam set by Scenic Route that included these three candles. There were these two images on the sheet that I had no idea what they could be... one of the gals in one of the classes I taught pointed out that they were the candle flames. Well of course they were! Duh!

But, since I didn't know that when designing the class, I had to improvise with some bling for the candle flames. The gal who knew those images were the flames stamped them on, coloured them and added the bling as part of the flame. Hers looked awesome!

The card was all about the bling... Bazzill Bling cardstock, Copic Spica Atyou glitter pens... and bling, of course!

I hope to make a bunch of cards this weekend while the family is away... or at least to work on my colour combination book for my Copics (thanks Shannon!). I want to be crafty this weekend!

Enjoy your weekend, whatever it is you end up doing!

*Winter Storm Warning*

You've got to be kidding me. Yesterday, we had a high of +13*C (about 55*F), right now it's sunny and nice out... and apparently we're looking at 10-20 cms of snow tonight (4-8")

WTF??

Spring Break will be spent on sleds on the hill by the school instead of riding bikes!

Of course, I took the boots out of the entryway yesterday afternoon. I was actually thinking that flip flop season was almost upon us! I knew I was too early, but the winter has seemed so long...

I created this card as part of my April class at the Scrapbook Pantry. I wanted the ladies who take my classes to get their fingers a little dirty so we blended the VersaMagic Dew Drops directly on to white paper to create the background that we stamped the birthday hats on to. What you can't see is that I coloured some of the stripes of the hats with Copic Spica markers and added some Stickles to the hats as well. We added some Dew Drops in the corners to finish it off.

Off to the mall in a few... Matthew has three pairs of jeans and now all three have holes in the knees... need at least one pair without holes!

Enjoy your Saturday!

*It's Been A Week?*

So sorry to have not posted earlier. I got back from my Cruise vacation on Sunday night, spent Monday doing laundry and relaxing, then Tuesday running around as it was Matthew's 12th birthday and I went away on vacation totally unprepared for it. Wednesday I went back to work.

I was in bed last night before 10pm, which is something I *never* do. I've been nothing but tired since I got home.

I had a wonderful time cruising the Caribbean with my sister last week. It was so relaxing and fun. My favourite event was the excursion to the Dolphin Academy in Curacao. We were in a small group of 6 people with one trainer and three dolphins!! Basically, Heather and I had a dolphin between the two of us for about 45 minutes. It was *SO* cool! Our other three excursions were all snorkeling... I think my favourite of the three of them (Aruba, St Maarten and St Thomas) was the Bones tour in St Thomas. The snorkelling was fantastic with clear water and sea turtles and the crew on the pirate ship was a lot of fun.

One more trip away in a few more weeks, then I am done for a bit. My two sisters and I are taking our Mom to Vegas to celebrate her 70th birthday the first weekend in April. Should be a lot of fun!

I created this card after being inspired by a card on Tammy's blog. I loved the look of it!

I used all Bazill cardstock, added some flowers I got at the Scrapbook Pantry, some bling and a Doodlebug flocked brad. The sentiment is one of my favourites from A*Muse.

I really like how this card turned out... the design, the colours... it is truly one of my favourites!

Thanks for popping by!

*Warning... This One is Bright!*

I can only imagine that I am having a splendiferous day on my cruise... let's see... I'm posting this on Thursday, which means we are at sea for the day. We have already been to Aruba and Curacao and I'm sure they were beautiful LOL! (if you're confused, scroll down and read the next post).

That means I have already been swimming with dolphins! What an adventure (I'm sure).

See, I told you this was hard!!

LOL

Anyway... a card for today. I created this one using the Sketch Challenge #161 over at Splitcoast. I used some Basic Black and Pink Passion SU Cardstock as well as some green Bazill Bling cardstock. I added a few Prima flowers, a fuzzy pink brad, some black dots around the edge, a sentiment from A*Muse and of course, some bling!

Watch out, as there are more versions of pink and green cards in your future... I've made a few lately!

Have a splendiferous day!

*Hey There Foxy!*

Hmmmm, I gotta tell ya.... writing posts to be scheduled for later is difficult when you want to start your post off with a little chit chat! I wasn't going to announce that I was away, just schedule a few posts to keep you happy... but I got nothing to say LOL!

So, I will tell you.... yesterday (well, tomorrow to me as I'm writing this on Friday) I hopped on a plane for Toronto where I was picked up by my sister and niece and whisked off to enjoy a day with them.... and this morning, the same sister and I (this is Sunday now folks) are heading back to the airport to board a plane to San Juan Puerto Rico where we will be boarding a Royal Caribbean ship and heading off tonight on a 7 day Caribbean Cruise. Our stops are Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten and St. Thomas.

This is my first cruise and while I am sad to be leaving my family at home, I am also excited to be heading off and spending a week with my best friend. I know we are going to have a blast!!!

The card I am sharing with you today is the final card from my February card class at the Scrapbook Pantry. We had fun playing with blender pens and the Scor-Pal with this card. The image and patterned paper are Imaginisce, the cardstock Coredinations. We used the Scor-Pal to create the diamond grid on the brown cardstock to reveal some of the blue that was behind it. Of course we had to add a little bling bling to the corners, just for a little added interest.

Thanks for coming by to visit!!

*I Found A Little Mojo*

I've been short on crafting time this week... nothing new there. Seems to be the story of my life. This card came together in a few small sittings over the last few days and evenings. And I'm happy to report that it is another card I am really pleased with!

I just love Julee's sketches over at Mojo Monday!

I used a little snippet of a new to me paper from a great Canadian company called Black River Designs. The Scrapbook Pantry got in two lines of this paper and it's just yummy! Double sided and fun!

I added some Stampin' Up cardstock to it.. Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip. I sent one layer of the Pacific Point through my Cuttlebug with the Spots and Dots folder. I found some American Craft ribbon and some flowers in my stash that matched not too bad, added an SU decorative brad to the centre and voila! The sentiment is by Amuse and is stamped in black on the bottom of the card. I used my Tim Holtz Design Ruler to help me do the paper piercing at the edge of the card.

I also really liked this card turned on it's side... but without the sentiment.

Thanks for popping by to see what I've been up to!
