 This month, the theme for the Clean and Simple Instagram Hop is "celebration"... I chose to do a birthday card.

I started with some fun ink splatter stamps and stamped them in my favourite colour combination.  I stamped the greeting directly on top of the ink splatters and added a little bling to finish it off.

It's been a busy few days here on my blog... lots of hops and challenges to share!  This one is for the Clean and Simple Instagram Hop!  This month, our theme is Pattern Paper... wait, what?!  How do you use pattern paper on a clean and simple card?!  I'm also entering this card in to the current challenge at Just us Girls.  Their theme is "summer" and what says summer more than butterflies and beautiful flowers?

It's easy... you use it sparingly!

For my card, I used this gorgeous floral paper and placed it directly on my card front.  I die cut the butterfly out of a smaller panel and put it on top of the pattern paper.  In retrospect, I wish I'd used some foam adhesive to add some dimension.

 This month, we are playing with florals for the Clean and Simple Instagram Hop.  I used a few things from my bin of extras to create my card... and I feel like it's almost 1970s inspired with the dark brown and the coral and orange!

 This month for the Clean and Simple Instagram Hop, we are playing with the theme of Slimline. Of course, you know I had to go for a mini slimline!  I was inspired by a card I saw by Cecile Ribon a while back... I still love hers more than this one... but I appreciated the inspiration!

 This month for the Clean and Simple Instagram Hop we are playing with the theme of friendship.  I chose my favourite colour combination and some simple floral dies to create a card to send to a friend...

 Hello and welcome to the first ever Clean and Simple Instagram Hop (CAS Instagram Hop for short!)

Each month, a group of creative friends will gather on Instagram to share a clean and simple card.  We have some guidelines for our cards, not no one is going to be too uptight about them!  Some of our guidelines are:
*minimal layers
*white space can be any colour
*minimal coverage of the card front
*keep elements close together
*use pattern paper, embossing, ink blending and bling sparingly

Many people don't realize that Clean and Simple is more than a card making style.. it's also a design style that has strict rules.

Anyway...  our theme for our first ever hop is SNOW

I created a rectangular space on my front panel with some low tack tape and I did a little ink blending to create a little more interest for my card.  I did some shading, making it darkest at the bottom, blending lighter and lighter as I got to the top of my rectangle.  I did a simple die cut JOY using a snowflake for the O and added a bold stamped sentiment to finish it off.
