I chose to do a couple of opposites... first of all, black and white is the most basic opposite out there.  And then, all of those black and white strips are layers... so lots of layers on a clean and simple card.

 There's a gorgeous new sketch at Atlantic Hearts that starts today... I hope it will inspire your creativity!!!

I sat with this sketch for a while, trying to decide how to make it in a style I am more comfortable with.  I tried a few elements (nothing adhered down) and then I came up with this... and I am in love!  What you can't see very well in the photo is that my two white panels are embossed with a soft wave pattern...

 This week on the My Favourite Instagram Hop, we are playing with our favourite fall colours.  I chose to do this floral card with some oranges and yellows and added in a dusty blue for some fun.  I decided after I coloured it that I wanted to add some deep red, so I did a thin matt in red.

*World Cardmaking Instagram Hop*

 Happy World Cardmaking Day, creative friends!!  A day dedicated to my favourite hobby!  I love it!  A group of Instagram Friends and I have gotten together to celebrate this day by sharing some beautiful cards...

I decided to create a card that is based off of a few ideas I saw on my friend Toni's Instagram page... Toni passed away suddenly a few weeks ago and I sort of thought that this hop would be an excellent way for me to send a nod her way as a thank you to her for sharing her creativity with everyone.

I was inspired by one of her cards that had a rainbow theme as well as one that had a wonderful radiating embossed background.  I combined the two to create this card...

The team at CAS on Friday is playing with a "shades of grey" theme for this weeks challenge.  Since I had so many ideas in my head for the splatter card I did the other day, I decided to play with the idea again.  Instead of multiple shades of ink, I used only black ink and did off stamping to get the different shades of grey.

 Hello friends... I'm here with a "fall splendor" themed card for the September Embossing Folder Instagram Hop.  I maybe should have done something other than green for a fall card, but I liked how the green and gold embossed panel looked together.  I took panels of each colour and cut them in half diagonally and then embossed them to ensure I had a seamless transition between the two colours...

 It's a fall themed challenge at CAS on Friday.  I started out doing some ink blending on a piece of cardstock and then I cut a bunch of leaves out of it.  They got lost on the white cardstock so I added a black strip of paper behind them to make them pop.

The colours of fall here in Calgary are kind of boring.  Our trees turn yellow and orange and not much else.  We already have trees that are turning yellow and it's only the middle of September!  Fall is short here!

 Hello friends... this month, we are playing with a "fall" theme for the Clean and Simple Instagram Hop.  When I chose the themes for this hop, I didn't anticipate how sick of the "fall" theme I'd be at this point.

I did a simple card with some printed (and die cut) washi and a simple sentiment.

I started with a stencil and did a light coloured ink blending over it to create a little pattern in my background.  I die cut the leaf die out of two shades of purple and layered them on to the card front.
