 This week for the My Favorite Instagram Hop, we are using our favourite monochromatic look...  I saw some samples from Gina K where her hubby had suggested ink blending in shades of grey.  I LOVED how they looked so I thought I would play with the idea...  I did a full 6x6 panel and cut out a portion of it for my card today (you'll see the rest of it in about 10 days)

 I'm here with my card for the My Favorite Instagram Hop... this week, our prompt is our favourite berry.  Now, I don't really have much in my stash for food or drink stamps and dies... so I had to think outside of the box for this one.

I started with a cardstock colour called "strawberry slush" and created some little flowers that remind me of the blossoms on my strawberry plants in the garden.

 I'm playing along with another week of the My Favourite Instagram Hop... this week our challenge was to make a card featuring our favourite sea creature.  I love dolphins, and have since I was a kid and watched the show "Flipper"... they seem so smart and if I could, I'd cuddle one.

I don't have a lot of water themed stuff, so I had to improvise...  I chose some water coloured cardstock and used a fun embossing folder on the strips to create the feeling of waves.  I cut the dolphin out of white cardstock and coloured up the majority of it with a grey Copic

 It's Sunday, so it's time for the My Favourite Instagram Hop....  this week it's our favourite summer pastime.

I love to sit outside in the sun in the summer... but as I've gotten older I don't tolerate the sun or the heat as well as I used to.  It sucks.  But I still like to sit outside... and I enjoy watching butterflies and dragonflies flit about our yard.

 This week for the My Favourite Instagram Hop, we are focussing on our favourite Father's Day stamps or dies.  I will admit that I don't really need a Father's Day card, but I played along anyway.

To make my card, I started with the strip of patterned paper. I die cut a circle and then cut out the letters to spell the word DAD from the circle.  I placed the circle on top of the card and trimmed off the edges.  I added back the small pieces from the letter dies and stamped a quick sentiment on it.

I love that this paper looks like ties my Dad used to wear...

 The theme at the My Favourite Instagram Hop this week is our favourite colour.  This was both a tough choice for me and not a tough choice for me.  I always say that my favourite colour is purple, but I'm not honestly sure it is any more. LOL!  It probably is since I have purple in my hair, lot of purple tops... but I also love red and blue (depending on the shades). 

So I went with my first thought and used a product suite from Altenew with a pretty purple ink.  I achieved the different colours of purple by using a lighter hand in some areas and a heavier hand in others.  I kept the leaves neutral by ink blending a little light grey on them.

This week for the My Favorite Instagram Hop, we are playing with our favourite spring flowers.

All of my most favourite flowers in the garden all bloom in the spring... so my garden is a little boring in the summer.  Here in Calgary, spring is a little later than other place in the world so I won't be seeing my tulips (they'll come first), peonies and lilacs for a while yet...

I chose to play with peonies today... I have 8 plants in my backyard of different colours and varieties.  While my stencil work for today isn't quite like my one plant, it was the one I was inspired by.... the blooms are white but they have an almost green tint to them.  I got a little heavy handed with the ink blending, but still love how my peonies turned out...

 I had to think outside of the box for the My Favorite Instagram Hop for today.  I played so little last month and I wanted to participate in as many as I could this month.   Our prompt this week is our favourite fruit.  I don't have any fruit stamps...  I don't think I have any food images at all.  So how on earth could I participate?!

Well, I decided to play with the colours of my favourite fruit... which is raspberries!  So I chose some colours that came close to raspberries (including the leaves that grow along with the fruit) and created this card to share today...

*My Favorite Instagram Hop*

 Happy Sunday all...  time for the next My Favorite Instagram Hop.  I love playing along with this when I can figure out a way to interpret the prompt.  This one was an easy one.  We are playing with fun folds and interactive cards.

I don't make a lot of fun fold cards (and haven't made an interactive card in forever), but it doesn't mean that I don't like them!  I saw this fun fold online a while back and decided to play with it.  It starts out with a folded card and I you cut off a diagonal corner (I cut from the top left to the bottom right).  I then cut some patterned papers, one for the front triangle and one for the corresponding triangle on the inside of the card.  I added a small trim of red behind all of that black and white paper.  I then made a small side fold card, folding on the right hand side to create a kind of "latch" or "gate" to keep the card closed.  I took a photo of how the card opens up so you can see what I'm talking about.
