*BYSHCardmakers Spring Into Christmas Linky Party*

Another Christmas card for you today...  playing along with the BYSHCardmakers Spring Into Christmas Linky Party. I saw an idea for using an embossing folder on kraft coloured cardstock and decided to do it for this card.  I highlighted the raised areas with a white pigment ink. In person it almost looks like chalk.  I love the look of deep red, black and kraft together, so the rest of the card came together pretty easily.  I used a rectangle die to cut out the centre piece and framed it in black before putting on my card front with foam adhesive.

*CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #583*

There's a fabulous new sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches that we hope will help get your creative juices flowing!

It's not too often that I design directly on my card front (I really like that extra layer), but I did that for this card.  I cut circles out of two different soft colours of cardstock and added a white embossed circle on top of each of them.  I then added a small flower on each circle in another spring inspired soft colour.

It's been so fun spending some time in my creative space, working on some design team obligations as well as playing with some other challenges!

*Create It 3-Ways Instagram Hop*

Each month, a group of us hop on Instagram, each sharing three cards we've made following a common theme.  The catch is, we each choose something to highlight in all three of our cards... a colour combination, a stamp set, a layout, a technique... something that will maybe help spark your creativity with the items already in your stash.

For March, our theme is sympathy cards... never something we like to make, but sadly something we need to have on hand.

In my mind, sympathy cards should be subtle and subdued.  I also like the imagery of a butterfly for sympathy cards.  All three of my cards use the same Pinkfresh Washi tape suite as well as the same sentiment stamp and die... and two of them feature the same embossing folder as well.

*This or That Instagram Hop*

This week for the This or That Instagram Hop, we are choosing between Leprechauns and Gnomes.  I LOVE gnomes but I don't use them very often in my creating.  I bought this gnome die a few years ago... I just had to have it... and then I used it once or twice and never again.  For today, I played with some fun pattern papers to create this cutie.

*Time Out Challenges #308*

Time Out Challenges is celebrating it's 12th birthday with a CASE Challenge that starts today and runs until the 18th of March.  We encourage you to CASE this gorgeous card created by Stef and enter it in our linky party for your chance to win a wonderful price from Waffle Flower!

I had a lot of fun with this one...  I chose some elements to use on my card and a few to switch up and a few to delete.  I started with those gorgeous flowers and chose two *very* old flowers from my stash.  Stef had two flowers in her design so I used two as well.  I created texture in my background by first cutting the Waffle Flower Postage Collage die and then embossing it with a brick pattern.  I added some black spatter instead of the gold highlights that Stef used.

*Stamps:  Waffle Flower Sweet Lattice Sentiments
*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne
*Dies: Waffle Flower Sweet Lattice Sentiments, Postage Collage
*Embossing:  Stampin' Up! Brick & Mortar

*Try A Sketch on Tuesday #689*

I saw this sketch at Try a Sketch on Tuesday and wanted to play along... but then had absolutely no ideas of what I wanted to do!  I kept going back to it over the last week, but still nothing came to me.  And then, in the 40 minutes I had before heading to start my work week on Wednesday afternoon, I had an idea... and instead of eating lunch like I should have, I made this card instead!

I chose to do three different patterns of embossing on my three strips and kept the card super simple.  I really like it!
