*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Hello friends... it's time for the monthly CASE It Instagram Hop.  Each month, a group of us each find a card that inspires us on Instagram and we use that card (each our own choice) to create something inspired by the card.  It can be a direct copy or we can take elements and be inspired to create something more unique.

My card today was inspired by my online friend Sandy... please go check out her Instagram profile and share some love on her creations!

Here is Sandy's card...

I LOVE a raised frame, especially when it's done in white  I changed things up by making my frame a stitched circle and instead of in blended leaves, I did some pretty washi flowers.  I kept the idea of stamping my sentiment inside of the frame.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

I'm here today to share my creation for the CASE It Instagram Hop... each month several of my online friends and I choose a card that inspires us on Instagram and we use it to create something of our own.  Sometimes we copy the card outright, sometimes we each use elements to inspire something of our own.

This month I was inspired by my friend VonMarie...  this is her card.

I loved the distressed strips of colour and the big beautiful mostly white flower.  I changed it up a little bit by using some different shades of colour in a smaller aspect and instead of a flower, I used a big butterfly.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

I'm here with my card for the CASE It Instagram Hop... each month I create a card that is inspired by another Instagram card creator.  This month, I chose a card by @joanbardee

Let me show you her card first...

This is such a gorgeous card!  I love that she did a rainbow of flowers, kept it clean and simple and used some dimension to make it all pop!  I did something very simlar with different stamps and some different sizes of layers.

Card Info
*Stamps:  Altenew Flower Vie; Uniko Birthday Wishes
*Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Versafine Clair Nocturne; Copics

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Each month, I host the CASE It Instagram Hop... a group of us each finds a card that inspires us on Instagram and we create our own card using the first as inspiration.  Sometimes we outright copy the design, sometimes we take elements from the card to create something different.

This month, I was inspired by a card created by Rochelle at StampingFlair... I fell in love with the layout of this card!  To be honest, I had 5 cards I could see myself CASEing this month so I went to my online friends and asked them to pick a number...  the winning number left me with this card.  And I hope I don't disappoint.

What did I like about this card?  The layout was the first thing that drew my eye.  I also liked the colours and that big bold flower in the centre of the card.  I also liked the thin matted layers.  I wanted to change it up a bit so I left off the pretty peach colour and stuck with greens and blues.  I used a different embossing folder and some pattern paper for the layer right behind the flower.  My flower is much larger than on the original so my layout is a little bit different as well.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

I absolutely LOVE using Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration for the cards I make.  There are so many very talented creators out there!!!!

Today I decided to play with a card by Denise Morgans for the CASE It Instagram Hop...

First, let me show you her fabulous creation!

What did I love about it?  The wonderfully colourful letters, the clean and simple design... even the ink spatter caught my eye!  How did I change it?  I used a plaid pattern paper for my die cut letter and spelled a different word... I made my card a regular sized card instead of a square one.  And my ink spatter is gold instead of black...  I made a Christmas Card to playing along with the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Spring Into Christmas Linky Party!

*Stamps:  Alex Syberia Christmas Sentiments
*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne; Kuretake Gambai Starry Colours

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Each month, a group of us find a papercrafting creation on Instagram that inspires us enough to want to make a card based on that creation and we share it for the CASE It Instagram Hop  Some months I will copy that card almost exactly, some months I play with the elements to create something different but similar.

This month, I was inspired by Verena Shapiro.  This is her card

I fell in love first with the colours... out of my usual wheelhouse, but so freakin' pretty!  Of course her mini slimline caught my eye as well.  To create my card, I used the same colours and the leaves, but I made a more clean and simple version of her card.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Today I'm sharing a card that was inspired by a very talented creator that I follow on Instagram as part of the CASE It Instagram Hop.  Each month, a group of us find a card on Instagram that we like and we use it to inspire a creation of our own.  Sometimes it's more or less a copy of that card using the supplies we have on hand, and sometimes we use the elements of the card to create something of our own.

First, let me show you the card by Michele that I loved...

The first thing that drew me to this card was that beautiful flower.  It was layered up and full and such wonderful colours!  I loved that the three embossed strips almost looked like a fence.  To create my card, I took the colours Michele used but reversed them, making the blue the star of the show with the orange an accent.  I flipped the design to a portrait layout and I omitted the pattern paper layer.  I kept the three embossed strips (raised up on foam adhesive) and kept the idea of an overlapped sentiment, but I overlapped the flower instead of just the strips.

I hope you can see the inspiration from Michele's card but can also see my own style in the creation.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

This morning I am sharing a card that was inspired by a talented creator on Instagram for the CASE It Instagram Hop.  I feel in love with her card (that you'll see below) and knew in an instant I'd be playing with it.

First, here's Milla's card...

Isn't it gorgeous?!  I love how rich her colours are!  And I love how the rest of the floral spray are in black and white on the front of the card.  Such a great interpretation of the spotlight technique.

My card didn't turn out as gorgeous as hers... but I tried to do something similar without copying directly.  I did the spotlight technique but with a smaller floral image.  Instead of a rectangular highlight, I went with a circular one. I kept my sentiment offset, but went to the other side of the card for it.  I hope you can see how my card was inspired by hers...

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Hello friends... it's the last CASE It Hop for 2025 and I thought I would share my take on a card made by one of my Instagram Idols.  I absolutely LOVE the work that Cecile Ribon posts... She has an amazing eye for design!

Here are the cards that inspired me this month...

Cecile's cards are mini slimline cards with a band around the centre... the inside is a gift card holder.  I was inspired by the strip of paper and the die cut over it.  Instead of a slimline, I did a regular sized card.  Instead of clean lines, I did a little paper tearing along the sides of my panel (that I did not make in to a band). I also added a sentiment to my card and popped that front panel up with some foam adhesive.

*CASE It Instagram*

This month, for the CASE It Instagram Hop, I chose to CASE a beautiful card by Kim Fee.  First, let me show you her card...

I was drawn to this card because of the colours... I love those gold and black and white stripes, the black accents and the white die cuts.  I changed my card up by flipping the layout, using a square instead of a circle, using a black mat intstead of stamping on a black piece and finally, by making mine a Christmas card with fir branches instead of leaves.

I love how this card turned out!  Thanks for the inspiration, Kim!

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Happy Saturday, Creative friends!  It's time for the CASE It Instagram Hop... each month, a group of us chooses any card we've seen on Instagram and we use it as an inspiration piece to make something of our own.  Sometimes we completely copy the idea, sometimes we use it as a jumping off point.

For today, I was inspired by a card I saw by Vicki Dutcher.

This is the card I was inspired by...

I loved the embossing on the blue, the shade of blue, the pop of white...  instead of using leaves, I used snowflakes... and instead of a die cut sentiment, I went with a simple stamped one instead.  I also changed up the shade of blue (although I really love the colour she used!)

*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

It's time for the September CASE It Instagram Hop... each month, a group of us each choose a card on Instagram that inspires us and we use that creation to make something of our own.  I was inspired by my friend Crystal Minkler with this fun Christmas card.  I have these papers and I was so tempted to completely just copy this card...

But I didn't!  I used my black and whited striped paper and struggled a bit to get the alternating diagonals like Crystal did... and I almost gave up because I hated wasting this paper!  I turned the card on it's side and used a big white and black flower making my card a non-Christmas design.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Each month I host the CASE It Instagram Hop with some creative friends joining in the fun.  We each chose a card that we seen on Instagram and use it to inspire us to make something of our own.  Sometimes we copy the card almost exactly, using the items we have in our stash.  Sometimes we use the original card as a jumping off point to create something different with similar elements.  And sometimes it is somewhere in between.

For this month, I was inspired by this card by @marisealark

I loved the colours that Mari used in her card... I loved the blue and white with the hint of metallic.  I also liked the stiched element of it and the sentiment overlapping the centre of her design.  I knew in an instant that hers was the card I was going to CASE...

I did change things up a bit though...  Instead of layered petals, I have a layer of white in the centre of my flowers.  I did three flowers instead of two.  And instead of a coloured metallic element, I chose silver (and I skipped the "greenery").  I kept the the blue and white, I used a stitched element in a frame layer and I kept the sentiment overlapping the centre of my design.

I hope you can see the original design in my card... but that I tried to put my own twist on it.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Each month, I host a CASE It Instagram Hop... a group of us chooses a card we've seen on Instagram and we use it an inspiration for a card of our own.  Sometimes the inspiration card and our card are very very similar to each other... sometimes we just take some of the elements and make it our own.

For my card today, I am using inspiration from Denise Morgan....  I LOVED her card that she created for the Gina K Appreciation Day and while I was going to CASE that, I actually CASEd the INSIDE of her card instead of the outside!

Here's her gorgeous card...

And this is the inside of her card...

And finally, my card....  I used similar colours, a different stamp, placed the simple sentiment in a different spot... and instead of cutting off my design complete, I used the cut off pieces on the card front to add a little more flair.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

On the 2nd Saturday of each month, a group of us play together on Instagram to CASE a card that has inspired us...  we find something on Instagram and make a card of our own that is inspired by that first card.

First, here is the card I was inspired by, but the wonderful Beverley Brown...  I just fell in love with her rainbow of butterflies... and the simplicity of the card.  And of course the mini slimline said "pick me"!!

I changed it up a little bit, but not a lot.  I used a rainbow of flowers instead of butterflies and I used a larger sentiment.  Otherwise you can definitely see that I was inspired by Beverley.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

This month, for the CASE It Instagram hop, I have created a simple one layer mini slimline card.  Each month, each of the participants finds a card created by someone else and shared on Instagram.  We then put our own spin on that creation to create a card.  We aren't trying to copy the card completely, but we want to take the essence of the card to create something of our own.

First, let me show you the card created by pristinepaperco...

I loved the simplicity of the card with the big bold sentiment and simple colours...  for my card, I chose to eliminate the extra layer as well as the layers of leaves and the secondary sentiment.  I also overlapped my sentiment and leaves.  My card is pretty close to the original, but I did make it my own by making some easy changes...

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

It's time for the CASE It Instagram Hop...  each month, each of us chooses a card we've seen on Instagram and we make a card inspired by it.

I chose a card by ginny9raye for my card today.... first, here is their card...

I chose this card because it is clean and simple, lots of white space, great colours.  Of course, I didn't want to copy it completely, so here's what I changed...  my layere is larger, my papers are darker, my focal point shape is a hexagon, I put my sentiment as the focal point with flowers around it.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Another post from me today... this time for the CASE It Instagram Hop!  Each month, a group of us each finds a project on Instagram that inspires us... and then we make a card using that piece as the basis of our own design.  We don't copy it completely, but we try to make sure you can see how we used that first project as inspiration.

First, the card I was inspired by...  I LOVE almost everything that Hannelie makes... this card spoke to me for my CASE this month.  I love that the only colour is in the butterfly (and that she didn't feel the need to colour the flowers).  I love that the sentiment is tucked in there almost perfectly.  And I love the dimension in the butterfly.

I changed things up a little bit with my card... but you can certainly see where I started.  I used shades of yellow, orange and red instead of shades of blue, I flipped the design to the other side of the card, I used clear gems instead of coloured ones and I used a larger sentiment.  I kept the big floral (without colouring it), the butterfly (added some foam adhesive for dimension), and of course I did my signature 1/16" mat.

*CASE It Hop*

It's time for another CASE It Hop on Instagram.  Even more creators have joined this hop this month so I hope you'll head over to Instagram to see what everyone was inspired by!

This hop has been a lot of fun for me... I often get inspiration from cards I see online and I love that I get to highlight another creator while showing how I took their original and made it my own.

First, the card I was inspired by...  I was inspired by this gorgeous card by Jennifer Ingle.  I loved how crisp and clean it was (even with the embossed background), how the colour popped on the black strip and how the focal element was not contained by that black strip.  I even loved that she used a small mat of colour behind her black panel.

So, the point of CASE-ing isn't to copy the card completely... it's to take elements of it and be inspired to make something that is your own.  I kept my card very similar to Jennifers card.  But I changed a few things.  I decided to emboss the black panel instead of the full background, I changed up the colours and I made a birthday card instead of a thinking of you card.

*CASE It Hop*

Today's the day for the monthly CASE It Hop on Instagram.  Our little group has grown by a few members this month!  Each month, we each find inspiration from another creator on Instagram and we make a card inspired by that creation.  We don't want to copy it completely, but we want to use their idea to make something of our own.

First, the card I was inspired by... this is a card by Jean Doeringsfeld.  I loved that rainbow strip on the smaller card!

I decided to play with some patterned paper for my rainbow strip.... I took some patterned paper that had squares of rainbow colours and I cut each one out and adhered the little scraps to a piece of printer paper.  I then trimmed it down to be the size I wanted.  Instead of hearts, I used some white flowers as my focal point, using a bit of red on the centre of one of the flowers much like her little XO on the one heart.

See, I was inspired by her card, but I didn't outright copy it!

Card Info
*Paper:  Stampin' Up! Full of Life
*Stamps:  MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes
*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne
*Dies:  Spellbinders Floral Spray
