*CASE It Instagram Hop*

Hello friends... it's time for the monthly CASE It Instagram Hop.  Each month, a group of us each find a card that inspires us on Instagram and we use that card (each our own choice) to create something inspired by the card.  It can be a direct copy or we can take elements and be inspired to create something more unique.

My card today was inspired by my online friend Sandy... please go check out her Instagram profile and share some love on her creations!

Here is Sandy's card...

I LOVE a raised frame, especially when it's done in white  I changed things up by making my frame a stitched circle and instead of in blended leaves, I did some pretty washi flowers.  I kept the idea of stamping my sentiment inside of the frame.

*CASE It Instagram Hop*

I'm here today to share my creation for the CASE It Instagram Hop... each month several of my online friends and I choose a card that inspires us on Instagram and we use it to create something of our own.  Sometimes we copy the card outright, sometimes we each use elements to inspire something of our own.

This month I was inspired by my friend VonMarie...  this is her card.

I loved the distressed strips of colour and the big beautiful mostly white flower.  I changed it up a little bit by using some different shades of colour in a smaller aspect and instead of a flower, I used a big butterfly.

*Build Your Stash Instagram Hop*

This month we are building up our stash of appreciation style cards for the Build Your Stash Instagram Hop.  Some of my friends did some cards to thanks the nurses or teachers or fire fighters in their lives.  I don't have a need for anything like that, so I went with a simple thank you card.  I used the exact same things on these two cards... even the same layout.  I love double sided pattern paper!

*This or That Instagram Hop*

For the month of January, we are playing with the choice of OLD or NEW for the This or That Instagram Hop.  I tried something that is new to me for my card today.

I've wanted to play with intentional doodling for a while but have almost felt too intimidated to try it.  I did a few doodles in a sketch book I bought and I hated what I did.  Last week I was making a purchase on Amazon and found a couple of "bold and easy" zendoodle template books by Rokia Love and I bought them on an impulse.  I was hoping that they would be printed on heavy paper and was a little disappointed to learn that they were just regular paper.  I found a pattern I liked and slipped a piece of cardstock behind it since I'd be using alcohol inks... and then had the idea to use my laser printer to photocopy it.  I can't print on cardstock so I just did it on pattern paper.  If it didn't work, I'd go somewhere to get it printed on 100 lb cardstock.

And to my surprise, it coloured up pretty well!!

I chose three colours of Copic (plus black), a black Micron pen and a white gel pen and I started to play.  Is it as good as the work I've been watching on Instagram?  Nope.  But Did I like what I created enough to cut a panel and use it on a card?  Yup!

*Two Challenges, One Card*

I had a completely different idea in my head for a card to follow the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches as well as using the "add a rainbow" challenge at Just Add Ink.  I had all the elements ready and I could not, for the life of me, make it work the way I saw it in my head.  So I scrapped all but one of the elements and went to work again...  and this is what I came up with.

*Another Wedding Card*

How on earth are we at the beginning of September already?  It was June, I blinked and we are in September.  I'm not at all ready for the shorter daylight hours, the chill in the air, the windows being closed.

Anyway, I'm here with another of the wedding cards that I made for my friend, the marriage commissioner.  This one goes against what I said in my last post about what I try to create for wedding cards... I (gasp), added colour.  It's a little bit of colour with a gold foil element, but colour all the same.

*Just Add Ink #716*

I was away from my craft desk all day yesterday but with my car in the shop today, I have some free time today... tomorrow I am back to running around again.  I saw the challenge at Just Add Ink and wanted to play along.  I tried a few different things to create some stripes, but nothing was quite what I had hoped.  I then just did some soft blue and white strips of cardstock on a panel... If you look at the graphic at the bottom of the post, you'll find the challenge graphic... I was inspired by the blue and white stripes (the stairs) and the flowers along the side of the steps.
