*Addicted to CAS #295*

The latest challenge at Addicted to CAS is right up my alley! We are creating snowflake cards!

Once again, I was drawn to the idea of a mostly white on white card.  I added a stitched frame die to my front panel but did it as an inlay so it almost looks embossed instead.  I layered the glittery snowflake on three layers of white to create some extra dimension.

Card Info
*Paper;  unknown sparkle
*Stamps:  Paper Trey Ink Signature Christmas
*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne
*Dies:  Prism Studio Sew Many Rectangles; unknown snowflake

*AAA Colourful #6*

The new colourboard challenge at AAA Colourful screams "warm summer evening" to me...  I took the colourboard rather literally with my creation... but go see what the other design team members did because some of them thought outside the box!!

My colours aren't quite as deep and rich as the colour inspiration, but the feeling is the same...

*{BYSHC} Sketch #46*

Welcome to June and a new sketch with Build Your Stash Holiday Card Makers.  It's never too early (or to late) to get started on your Christmas cards!  I, personally, have really been enjoying an excuse to play with my most favourite part of my stash each month.

When I saw the sketch, I knew that I wanted a snowflake in that circle...  and I tried something I've been wanting to do for a while... I used an embossing folder on mirror cardstock.  Isn't it pretty?!?!

*Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! Basic Black; silver mirror; Lawn Fawn Iridescent Silver

*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne

*Create It 3 Ways December Holidays*

I took a break last few months, but I am back playing along with the Create It 3 Ways Instagram blog hop.  Each month, a group of us takes a common theme (this month it's "December Holidays") and we each create 3 different cards (or tags or other projects) on that theme that use something else in common... it could be the layout, the stamp set, the colours, a technique...  whatever you'd like!

I have a few things in common with my cards... I used the same layout (the April 2022 Sheetload of Cards sketch) and the same greeting stamp.  I am absolutely in love with how these cards came together!  I love a good mini-slimline!

*Paper Players #666*

I had so many ideas in my head for the current colour challenge at The Paper Players...  but nothing was turning out the way I wanted it to.  I finally settled on this card, but it took HOURS for it to come together!  Well not hours in row...  I'd do a bit, play with it and put it aside while I worked on something else... picked it up again and played some more, put it aside...  I did this several times before I got the paper strips the right width, the sentiment right, the shape right....  and in the end I'm happy with it!

*Change the Orientation*

This card was all put together with the idea of it being a dangling snowflake... the chain link string at the top with the snowflake at the bottom... and then I saw the card on it's side and changed my mind!  The sentiment fit in there absolutely perfectly!

*Happy Holidays*

I am so happy that I was able to find some more of this wonderful (but retired) patterned paper from Stampin' Up!  I love so many of the patterns in this package of 6x6 designs. I even used a scrap of the paper for that horizontal strip (left over from cutting something for another card).

*CAS Colours & Sketches #497*

There's a new sketch over at CAS Colours and Sketches... I hope you'll play along with us this week!  The design team has some great creations too!  Check them out HERE!

I started out doing a one layer card however I made a mess of my ink blending so I did another panel.  I decided I liked how it looked as a smaller panel on the card base so I used a die to cut it down a little.  The snowflake is a precut snowflake that Stampin' Up! sold last year that I *had* to have and then have barely used any from the pacage.

*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne; Tim Holtz Salty Ocean

*Sweet Baby*

Happy Monday all... so happy to report that Calgary is finally seeing some warmer weather again.  After more than a month with our temperatures all well below freezing, our forecast now only shows temperatures above 0C for the next several days.  I sure hope we don't go back to the deep freeze we've been in!

I was asked by friends we bowl with to create a baby shower invitation for the one person they are inviting who isn't on FB.  They know they are having a girl so I decided to play with pinks and purples.  I also knew I didn't want to go with traditional baby images so I reached for my Gerda Steiner unicorn to create this card.

I used some silver iridescent foil on a polka dot foiling sheet to get those wonderful polka dots.  I coloured the image with my Copics but didn't worry at all about blending.  I attached the unicorn to a white rectangle with pop dots and then added the chain circle from MFT) for a little interest.  The sentiment is from an old PTI set I had laying around and I stamped it with Twilight Catherine Pooler ink.  I added the purple layer using my Perfect Layers tool and then added it all to a white card.  I added the information about the shower to the inside using my printer and a fun font.

*Two-Fer*

I decided to share these two cards together since they are pretty much the same card, with different dies.  I saw a card on Pinterest and decided to make it in to an every day card instead of a Christmas card...
I'm not sure which one I like better....

*Same Stamp*

I made another card with Bonnie's stamp...  this time stamped in pink ink on a white card front....  I added a chocolate brown layer and then a pink layer before putting it all on to a white card base.  I added a Paper Trey Ink sentiment stamped in the chocolate brown.
