*Try A Sketch on Tuesday #692*

This has been a wonderfully creative weekend for me.  My office doesn't close for long weekends as our usual office hours are Tuesday through Saturday.  Easter is the only guaranteed long weekend that we take off.  I'm lucky enough to have 5 days off in a row as I go back to work on Wednesday.

It's been so fun spending some time in my creative space, working on some design team obligations as well as playing with some other challenges!

Today I played along with the latest sketch at Try A Sketch on Tuesday.

*Try A Sketch On Tuesday #690*

I had some fun playing with the current sketch at Try a Sketch on Tuesday... I will admit that I really wanted to play with the sketch but wasn't feeling overly creative (has been a theme this week) so I'm not sure that the card is exactly what I wanted it to be.

Here's the sketch...

I started out with stencilling a layer and then added a dark blue frame.  I added some Pinkfresh die cut washi tape elements and a simple sentiment to finish it off.

*Try A Sketch on Tuesday #689*

I saw this sketch at Try a Sketch on Tuesday and wanted to play along... but then had absolutely no ideas of what I wanted to do!  I kept going back to it over the last week, but still nothing came to me.  And then, in the 40 minutes I had before heading to start my work week on Wednesday afternoon, I had an idea... and instead of eating lunch like I should have, I made this card instead!

I chose to do three different patterns of embossing on my three strips and kept the card super simple.  I really like it!

*Try A Sketch on Tuesday #688*

I don't know how I missed this fabulous sketch challenge blog... but I did!  An online friend of mine recently joined this design team and that's how I found the challenge.  I loved the sketch this week and knew I wanted to play along.  I don't always have time to play along with other challenges just because I'm so busy with all of the other commitments I've made for my creating.  I'm happy I had a little time to play with this one!

I played with a few different ideas before landing on this card...  I thought that the loopy embossing folder felt like the pattern a butterfly would make while in flight... and I added some looped gold thread for one of the elements of the sketch.  Since I stamped on pattern paper (and it felt a little flimsy), I cut out an extra butterfly out of cardstock and layered them together to give the focal point a little more stability and to make it pop off of the page a little more.
