*SnS Boo!*

I can NOT believe it's the end of October already!  Of all the years to go by quickly, I think 2020 is a good fit...  but I still can't fathom how we are staring November in the face!

The Scrap 'n Stamp Random Acts of Cardness cue for today is BOO! so I decided to play with this super cute ghost die and some Hallowe'en colours.

I'm sure you're all used to my clean and simple style... honestly my cards don't often have much in terms of technique.  It's just what I prefer.  One of these days I'll surprise you with a much more complicated card and you'll wonder if I was kidnapped or something LOL!

*CASology #377*

It's Tuesday and time for a new challenge with CASology!  The cue for the next two weeks is Sunset.  CASology is a clean and simple challenge so we want to see what you come up with for a clean and simple card with the cue card challenge of Sunset.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Uniko.  Submit your creations on the CASology blog (linked from your blog, Instagram or Flickr) for your chance to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge and to win a prize from Uniko.

I decided to play with the colours of sunset (although the hubby says I should have added some pink there too) and the idea of a silhouette against the sunset.

*AAACards #177*

Hi crafty friends!  It's Sunday and time for a new two week challenge with the team at AAACards!

As you can see from the graphic, for challenge #177 we want to see your clean and simple cards with a LOT of white space with the optional twist of stars.  Our guest designer for this challenge is Sue and our sponsor is Uniko.

I had an idea in my head for this card but I'm afraid I covered a bit too much of my "white space" to be truly "maxi white space".  I tried some different ideas but nothing else grabbed me like this card did.

Yes, this is still a lot of white space, but I'm sure not sure it's quite "maxi white space".  I challenge you to do better than I have LOL!

Items Used:

  • Cardstock:  Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb; gold glitter paper; Stampin' Up! Basic Black
  • Images:  Simon Says Stamp Believe
  • Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne

  • Tools:  Gemini Jr
We want to see your creations using the prompt above... share your card on the AAACards blog for your chance to win a prize from Uniko as well as become a guest designer on an upcoming challenge!  You can link to your blog, Instagram or a Flickr account!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

*Swear Word Below*

Just a warning before you scroll any further... the card I'm sharing today drops the "f-bomb".  To me, it's just a very useful word, but I know that others feel very differently about it.  So rather than surprising you, I'm warning you that it's there.  My card is *not* censored so if you look at it, you will see it.

I had a friend ask for a "cheeky" card to send to a friend and I knew I had just the stamp.  The only problem is that this stamp from The Ink Road is HUGE so I had to make a larger card than I usually make.  I kinda like how it turned out.

I used my Misti to make sure I got a good dark solid image... and then added an assortment of Prima flowers to decorate it up.  I also added some Stampin' Up! bling to the centres of the flowers to add a little sparkle and a little more colour.

Good afternoon friends....  sorry to have been absent for so long.  Life has gotten in the way of creating and posting.

*Bat! for Scrap 'n Stamp*

Today's prompt for Scrap 'n Stamp is Bat... and normally I'd say bats are pretty darn scary... but this morning we woke up to a few inches of snow on the ground and that is WAY more frightening! LOL!  We had a lovely October up until a few days ago when it got colder and windy.  This snow won't stay, but it's snow all the same.

I love this little bat die from Memory Box... the photo of my card just doesn't do it justice!  I created the background and the moon with Gina K inks and the Taylored Expressions blending brushes.  I took my time and built up the colours to create a darker night sky with what I had on hand.

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb; Memory Box Frosted Glitter Paper Pad
*Dies:  Memory Box Cave Bat; Spellbinders circle

*AAACards #176*

It's time for another clean and simple challenge with the team at AAA Cards!  For the next two weeks, we want to see your creations using only one corner of your card with the optional twist of Cosy (or Cozy).  Our Sponsor for this challenge is STAMPlorations and our guest designer is Angie

Here in Calgary, by this time in October, we've usually had a killing frost and some snow but (knock on wood) we've had a wonderful September and October so far.  My idea of Cozy is flannel... and flannel to me is plaid.  But could I find the plaid patterned paper I KNEW I had?  Nope!  I had to use a piece that doesn't quite scream cozy to me (and yesterday, I found the paper I had wanted to use.

*Awesome Circles*

I'm not honestly sure about this card... I had some scraps of Catherine Pooler patterned paper and I decided to use them.  It's OK... but not as striking as it was in my head.

*Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy*

Good afternoon everyone... so sorry for the absence here on the blog.  As I said a few days ago my stockpile of cards to post has been dwindling over the last several weeks.  When I have time to create, I have little mojo and when I have mojo, I have no time to create.  It was all so much easier when I was off work than being back to my regular hours at work again.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my job and am so happy to be back there and to some sense of normalcy after the hell of the last 12 months, but I do miss my unlimited crafty time!

Not to mention we've had FABULOUS weather here in Calgary so far this fall and it's hard to be inside crafting when I could be outside in the sun!  It's so hard to believe that we haven't had a killing frost or snow yet (knock on wood).  And so far, the 10 forecast is looking pretty freakin' awesome too!

So I will post when I have cards to share... I'm so sorry if you got used to seeing cards every single day!

For this card I stamped and embossed the word happy on different colours of scrap cardstock and stamped the fancy "birthday" in there as well.  Lots of colour in this card!  Thanks to my friend Ardyth for the inspiration for this card!

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb; assorted scraps
*Stamps:  Avery Elle Big Birthday; Lawn Fawn Happy Happy
*Ink:  Versamark
*Etc:  white embossing powder; heat tool
