*My Favourite Hop - Christmas Decoration*

Another Sunday means another card for the My Favourite Instagram Hop.  This week we are playing with our favourite Christmas decoration.

I am one of those who absolutely LOVES Christmas Lights.  There is nothing better than sitting in a room that is illuminated with only Christmas lights.  And I love driving at this time of year (minus the slippery roads) to see all of the houses lit up so beautifully!

I bought this lights cover plate die back in the early fall and was so excited for it.  And then I went to play with it and froze!  What do I do?

I decided to let the lights shine for themselves (did you see what I did there?!).  I put them on a dark coloured panel to help them stand out a bit.  I painted the cords of the lights with silver sparkle watercolour and cut out the lights in different colours of cardstock.

*Addicted to CAS #262*

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS... and it's a summer themed challenge!  There are so many ways you could go with this one and I can't wait to see what everyone dreams up!

My card came about in an interesting way.  I used some glittery watercolour paints on this piece of black cardstock and when it dried, I use this die on the panel.  I forgot that the panel cuts a silhouette out of the cardstock and it wasn't going to work for the idea I had in my head for the CAS on Friday challenge.  So I put it all aside and tried something different for my card that I posted yesterday.

I sat down at my craft desk later that day to do something else, had an idea and had no time to execute it.  So I quickly laid it out in a way that would remind me what I was thinking and went off to work.  I don't get to create too much during my work week as my days are long, but as soon as I got home from work on Saturday, I put this card together.  I used the failed panel to place the cut outs to create this beautiful summer night (complete with dragonflies and northern lights) card.

*Time Out Challenges #243*

There's a new photo inspiration challenge at Time Out Challenges...  please be sure to tell us how this photo inspired your creation!

When I was a kid, I wanted a room that looked just like this.  We weren't poor, but my parents were not going to spend money on my bedroom to make it look like this.  As an adult, I get it... as a kid, I was so disappointed.

For my card, I took inspiration from the pink in the photo... and the fact that the window is off to the side with a linear element coming away from it... do you see it?
