*December 2023 Sheetload of Cards*

My stash of cards to share is slowly dwindling... the last week or two I haven't really been in my craft room at all.  Christmas prep has taken my attention (and trying to finish a baby blanket for a baby that arrived almost two months early... I'm almost done!).

My work week had a mix up this week and I am hopeful that now that my Christmas prep is done that I will find at least a little more time in my craft room over the next week or so.  I am off to work in a few hours and work tomorrow... and then I'm off until the 27th.  We have no real holiday plans so I'm guessing I'll have some time to myself if I want it.

Anyway... a card for you today, not for a challenge or anything... just wanting to use some stuff from my Christmas stash!

*{BYSHC} Sketch #48*

How on earth is it August 1st??!!  Where is this summer going?  It's been hot hot hot here in Calgary and the wildfire smoke from Jasper National Park has been coming and going in the city for the last week or so.  Summer goes by so fast...

As it's a new month, there is a new sketch at Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers...

I went through my stash of patterned papers to find some options with diagonal stripes.  I settled on this one because I knew I wanted to play with a snowflake.  To create this card, I cut out the snowflake from the patterned paper, off to the side as you can see.  I then layered a piece of silver sparkle paper behind the patterned paper.   This was way easier than trying to get the die to cut through the sparkle paper (which is always a challenge, it seems).

*February Christmas Craft Creations*

The team at Christmas Craft Creations is playing with a non-traditional Christmas colour for the month of February... in honour of the month of Valentine's Day, we want to see your Christmas cards using pink as the main colour.

I turned to my patterned papers for my card for this challenge... and this very old Doodlebug 6x6 pad had lots of choices.  I had used the wavy Merry Christmas in a card a few years ago and had carefully cut that wave pattern along the bottom.  It turned out to be the perfect size for a mini slimline card!  I found another piece in the pack and here's what I came up with...

*Snowy Greetings*

I really did try to make more cards to use up some of my stash of Christmas patterned paper this year.  It doesn't get used up too fast when you're only using little bits at a time, though!  But I do like proving that you can use patterned paper in your clean and simple designs.

*Christmas Craft Creations Design Team*

I am super excited to share with you that I have joined the Christmas Craft Creations Design Team!  This is a once a month Christmas Craft challenge blog that has some great prompts to help you get your cards ready for the big Christmas rush!  If you've been here for a while, you know that Christmas cards are my absolute favourite reason to make a card, but I usually save it up and make them from October to December.  I am hoping that by participating in a few Christmas card challenges as well as being on the Christmas Craft Creations design team that I will have a little head start on my cards this year.... and I'll get to enjoy my treasured Christmas stash regularly!

I am a part of the "reminder" team for this challenge... that means that the challenge went live two weeks ago and will end at the end of the month.  I hope you'll find some time to play along with us!

I did a lot of patterns for my card today... I bought this Photo Play Tulla and Norbert paper that has a bunch of ugly Christmas sweaters on the page... and I put the entire sheet through my Brother Scan 'n Cut to get some fun images to use on cards...  I paired all these papers and images together with the August Sheetload of Cards.
