I was so excited to get the mail the other day to find my order of Pinkfresh Studio had arrived. I just love this foiled butterfly Washi Tape... And I thought that these images went perfectly with the challenge theme of "NATURE" at CAS on Friday...
It's time for a new colourboard challenge over at AAA Colourful. We want you to take inspiration from our colourboard and create something wonderful. You do not need to use all of the colours, but make sure that the idea of the colourboard is visible in your creation.
My blue isn't quite as deep as the colourboard, but I hope you can see the idea behind my design...

I enjoyed putting this card together... I really love the texture of the white panel and how everything else just pops because I let that panel be relatively plain. I'm not saying this card is clean and simple, but I do like the lines and the way it all came together.

We were asked to make Dad themed cards for this hop... so I chose some Dad colours (I remember my Dad having suits in these colours way back in the 70s and 80s)... I wish I could send him this card.

I purchased a fun new brick embossing folder at a garage sale a few weeks ago and decided to have some fun with it for my card today.

I LOVE working with florals when I'm making cards... and then you add rainbow colours and I'm all in! This was the card I made for my husband to send to his Mom for Mother's Day.

I was happy that my ink blended Roses and Vines die cut images met the colour scheme so well. I just had to add the dreaded (well, to me it's dreaded) yellow to my design. I took a small strip of the Daffodil Delight cardstock and added score lines along it to add a little more interest to it before adding to my card panel.
I just love these foiled butterflies so much! Maybe I just really like butterflies? I did add to my stash of butterflies but haven't played with them yet... instead you get a card using a butterfly from the bin of extras...
With butterfly dies, I LOVE putting liquid glue along the body and foam adhesive behind the wings to create dimension... the body is stuck directly to the cardstock but the wings are popped up.
Here is my card for the current Birthday Bounce Instagram Hop... our theme for May was "flowers"... and of course I had no problem with that!
To add a little interest, I did some scored lines on the top part of my panel and used the gold strip to cover up where those lines stopped. I just got some new Pinkfresh stamps, dies, washi and stencils so there will be some new fun stuff in the coming weeks!

I had fun with some pretty coloured strips of cardstock to create my card for today...
I found some mojo after work yesterday and managed to create a card using the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I struggled a bit with the placement of the frames... in fact I threw out three other attempts to get a look I liked. I am so happy with how this turned out...
Just a quick fly-by from me before I head off to work this morning... T minus 5.5 hours until my work week is done. I had a boss at a previous job who was convinced I must hate my job because I was always excited for the weekend and my days off. I honestly LOVED my job and the people I got to interact with during my part time week... but if your job is the only thing you have going on in your life, what's the point? I have a job I LOVE now, working with people who always make me laugh, interacting with people who have come to mean a lot to me... but I love my time to myself and with my family more. You have to have that balance between work and home, and I am blessed that I have two places I enjoy being.
My work week this week was not my regular schedule so I had yesterday off... and I had big plans for a super crafty day.... my super crafty day turned in to me making one card and watching a bunch of saved TV shows. Whoops. I have a half day of work today and then three days off... so lets hope I find some more crafty vibes this weekend!
While I really like these Pinkfresh sets that give you a bunch of elements in one or two steps, I find I end up with a lot of extras in my bin because I only need one or two elements on a card. All of these are from my bin of extras...

If you've been here for any length of time, you know I make a lot of cards with flowers... so this was not a difficult challenge for me!
Not quite sure how it's already May... of course the weather in Calgary isn't helping that. We have marked the start of May today with a snowfall warning. The snow is falling outside my window as I type this. I am off to work in a few minutes and am curious to see how much we get. I hope it's less than predicted.
The only good thing about snow at this time of the year is that you know it won't last long. So far it's sticking on the grass and the roof (and the car in the driveway) but the roads and sidewalks are just went.

A quick card for you today that I created using some items in my bin of extras. I like how the embossed diagonal lines add a little interest without cluttering up the space.
Happy Monday creative friends... we had a beautiful weekend here in Calgary and now we have a "special weather statement" advising us that we could see up to 25cm of snow Tuesday and Wednesday. Welcome to spring in Calgary... sigh

I chose to do mine as a mini slimline as I prefer that size to a standard slimline...
Just a quick post from me after a workout and before a trip to Costco (another type of workout lol). We joined a local rec centre about 6 weeks ago and have committed to working out 3-4 times per week. I did a class yesterday with a friend of mine that showed me just how out of shape I am.... and left me feeling muscles I forgot I had today. But I went back to did some weights in the weight room today. Stairs are NOT my friend today. LOL!
Anyway... Sharing a card I ade a few days ago... sure widh you could see those scored diagonal lines a little better....
I hope everyone had fun playing along with our challenge in conjunction with the team at Just Us Girls last time. We were so excited to see SO MANY entries and it was so hard to choose our favourites!
We are back with our next challenge at Time Out... a challenge of one of my favourite things!
I LOVE playing with stripes in my creations. I use them a lot! For my card today, I cut stripes out of coloured cardstock in one size using aPink Fresh Studio die.. and then I used a smaller die from the same set to create some black stripes as well. I put those thinner black stripes in between the coloured stripes to give me good spacing and to make it all look "even". I really like how the colours just pop on the black base!
