*Scrap 'n Stamp Canada Altenew Blog Hop*

I am so very excited that one of my favourite online shops, Scrap 'n Stamp Canada, is now carrying products from Altenew.  Altenew has been one of my favourites for a long time!  They have so many wonderful florals (which we all know I love) and there are often some great sentiments in those floral sets.  I'm happy to be a part of their August Blog Hop to help spread the word that there is another Canadian source for Altenew.

I used a wonderful HUGE peony stamp, die and stencil... and some Altenew inks too!  I stamped the image, stencilled on it and then use the die to cut it out.  I then placed it on a black panel and cut off the excess of the image to fit my card.  I coloured in a few spots with a black Copic marker because I didn't like the white and how it stood out on my black base.  I just LOVE how this image pops on the black panel.  I stamped a sentiment directly on to one of the petals and added a couple of clear bubbles to finish it all off.

Card Info
*Cardstock:  Prism Simply Black
*Embellishments:  from my stash

I hope you'll hop along to the other blogs to see what everyone else has created.  There are so many beautiful things to see!!  The more posts you leave a comment on, the better your chances of winning the prize of $50 to spend in the Scrap 'n Stamp store!!!!

Here is the list of blogs to HOP to!!

*Christmas in July Blog Hop*

Welcome to the Christmas in July blog hop with the team at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!  We all had a bit of a struggle coming up with Christmas cards in the record breaking heat in some areas of the country at the end of June and beginning of July... well, I didn't because I truly LOVE making Christmas cards!

As always with our blog hops, hop along to each stop and leave a comment for your chance to win a $50 gift certificate to Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!

AND as an added bonus... there is a sale this weekend!

I can't take full credit for this card....  I took a few ideas I saw online and kind of morphed them in to one card to create this wonderfully sparkly creation!  It's a lot less clean and simple than my usual style, but that sparkle has me swooning!

Items Used:
*Etc:  foam adhesive

Now it's time to go check out what the rest of the team created for the hop!  Remember to leave a comment on each stop for your chance to win that $50 to spend at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!

*Whittle Things Blog Hop*

It's the first Friday of the month and that can only mean one thing... it's time for the Scrap 'n Stamp Canada Blog Hop!  The design team gets together on the first Friday of every month for a hop where you have a chance to win a $50 shopping spree at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!  All you have to do is leave a comment on each of the blogs in the hop for your chance to be chosen as our random winner!

For June, we are playing with the Whittle dies by Poppy Stamps.  Have you see these yet?  Check out some of the ones that are in stock at Scrap 'n Stamp HERE.  They are tiny little dies and they are super adorable!  I have four and I have my eye on a few more!!  This weekend, June 4th to 7th, all Whittle dies are 20% off!

My card is super colourful and fun.... and perfect for a summer birthday!  I took the ice cream die and cut it a few different times.  It is one die but the ice cream scoop is separate from the cone by about a 1/4 inch so I was able to not waste cardstock when I cut it first out of Sandy Beach cardstock to get the cone and then out of Turquoise Sea, Lovely Lavender, Passionate Pink and Jelly Bean to get the scoops.

I started putting the card together but realized it needed "something".... so I pulled out some Lemon Drop cardstock and my A2 Layers dies from Waffle Flower (any rectangle dies would do) and I chose two dies so I could create a frame.  I didn't choose two that are side by side in size but rather skipped the one size to go one bigger.  I taped them together on my cardstock so that they wouldn't move before running it through my Big Shot.

I added the frame to the front of my white card base with glue as I find glue has a bit more "play time" when trying to get something in the perfect place.  I then added the cone to the bottom of the framed area and then added my scoops of ice cream using foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips in Versafine Clair Nocturne and then cut it out use the Simple Strips Die and then used a piece of Passionate Pink to cute out the Simple Strips Backer.  I adhered the sentiment just above centre, just in the middle.

To finish it all off, I used some Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals using their new Embellishment Wand the the triangle tray.... both of these tools are FABULOUS for using crystals and sequins!

And there you have it... a fun, colourful, summery card!

And now it's time for you to continue along with the hop....  here are all of the blogs for you...  be sure to comment on each stop for your chance to win $50 to spend at Scrap 'n Stamp!

*Bling 'n Blossoms Blog Hop*

It's the first Friday of the month which means it's time for another fun Blog Hop with the team at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada.  This month we got to play with two of my favourite things.... bling and blossoms!!  I hope you'll stop by each blog in the hop and leave a comment for each of the design team members.  Every time you leave a comment on a blog hop post your name is entered in a draw.  This month the prize is a $50 gift card from Scrap 'n Stamp Canada

In addition, Scrap 'n Stamp Canada is having a Mother's Day sale this weekend!  Valid May 7th to May 10th, 2021.  (While supplies last, valid with any other coupons, sales or promotions.  Not applicable on previous purchases)  Just use the code Pamper to receive 20% off!

I love flowers and I love sparkle, but it wasn't an easy theme for me because I just couldn't decide what I wanted to do!!!  This is the card I finally ended up with... and I loved it so much I sent it to my bestie for her birthday.  She's also a card maker so I try to send her a card I really love for the special occasions in her world.

I started with a piece of white cardstock cut down to 4X5.25" and I used some purple tape to adhere the Gina K Mega Flower stencil to the piece.  I then used some Tim Holtz Twisted Citron ink (this is such a beautiful green!) and used a detail blending tool to get the ink on just the centres of the flowers.  I know I didn't do it perfectly, but flowers aren't perfect, are they?  I used a paper towel to carefully remove the excess ink from the front of the stencil before using a palette knife to cover the entire stencil in Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste.  I peeled off the stencil while it was all still wet and set my panel aside to dry for about 20 minutes.

I cut the word "friend" out of black cardstock three times and layered them together using Gina K Connect Glue to create some dimension.   I stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and layered it on to black cardstock.  I used my Perfect Layers Tool to create the 1/16" border all around the white piece.  I used foam adhesive on the back of the sentiment to add just a touch more dimension.

And now it's time to head to the next stop in the Hop...  or start at the beginning.... just be sure to visit each stop and leave a comment on each blog.  The more blogs you comment on, the more chances you have at winning a great prize from Scrap 'n Stamp!

*Scrap 'n Stamp Polka-Hop*

It's the first Friday of the month which means it's time for another Blog Hop with the Design Team at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada.  For April, we are playing with all things Polka Dots!!!  Be sure to HOP along with the rest of the Design Team and leave a comment on each blog for your chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate from Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!

I love polka dots and I had a few different things in my stash that I could choose from... but I landed on this great stencil from Paper Rose and had some fun with ink blending and Nuvo Glimmer Paste.

I started out by using Purple Tape to adhere my stencil to my card front and then stencilled three colours of Distress Ink over the stencil.  I made sure to overlap my colours to get the full rainbow on my card.  I wiped off the excess ink with a tissue before I did a layer of the Nuvo Glimmer Paste over the top of the stencil.  I set the panel aside to dry while I cut three "hello" words out of black cardstock and layered them together with glue (glue is good because you have a little time to "play" before it sets up).  Once the panel was dry (about 15 minutes), I cut it down to 4" X 5.25" and adhered it to the front of a coloured top folding card.

Now it's time to HOP along to see what the rest of the design team came up with...  go, start at the beginning and follow the links along.  Every comment you leave gives you another entry in to the draw for that $50 gift certificate!

*Sweater Weather Blog Hop*

It's the first Friday of the month which means it's time to Hop along with the design team at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!  I hope you'll visit all of the blogs listed below to have a look at how we have each interpreted the theme of Sweater Weather!  Leave comments on each blog along the way for your chance to win a prize from Scrap 'n Stamp!

And while we're at it... there's a sale going on at Scrap 'n Stamp!  Bundle up and Save!!  Click HERE to see the bundles on sale until midnight on Sunday, November 8th!

I took the words Sweater Weather pretty literally and used some great knit look paper from Brutus Monroe to create a Starburst card.  There are lots of ideas out there for Starburst cards, but here's a link to the one I used.

I started out by cutting out the pieces of patterned paper as shown HERE.  I then played around with placement of those pieces before I started gluing them down.  Glue worked well for this (I am usually a double sided adhesive girl) as it gives you a little time to play with placement.  You can make a mess at the "centre" mark as it will be covered.  I took the time to lay out the pieces in the order I was going to place them so that I didn't have to mess around while gluing things to my backer piece.

Here you can see all of the pieces glued down... this was a lot more work that I'm used to doing on a card, but certainly not too much work.  I think the second card I make like this will be a lot easier... the first one is always a little more work as you're trying to figuring things out.

As you can see from the photo above, the pieces are all longer than they need to be.... I simply took my sharp scissors and cut off the edges once everything was dry.

I think there are SO many options for this technique... it all depends on what you place over that mess in the centre.  I've seen lots of different ideas for the Starburst technique... google it (or search it on Pinterest).

I finished off my card with a Christmas sentiment from My Favorite Things.  It's a pretty busy card coming from the lover of clean and simple... but I like it!

Items Used:

*Patterned Paper:  Brutus Monroe Sweater Weather

*Canada, EH Blog Hop*

The design team at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada decided to change things up a little bit for our hop this month... we usually start on the first Friday of the month but since this is a Canada themed blog hop for Canada Day, we decided to start the hop a few days early on Canada Day!

We hope you'll play along with us for the next two weeks.  Please visit each of the blogs on the hop (listed below) and leave a comment on each for your chance to win a prize pack from Scrap 'n Stamp.  And this month we have a treat for you... comment on posts from the design team on Facebook and on Instagram for more chances to win!  We will award a prize pack to each of the three places to comment!

As you know, my style is pretty clean and simple... I do stray from it from time to time, but for the most part, you're going to see a lot of empty space on my cards.  I used to struggle with cards like this and now I struggle with cards with more going on.  Funny how your talents and tastes change over the years.

So here you have my clean and simple take on a Canada themed card!  Lots of Red and White and of course, the maple leaf!

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White 100lb; Lawn Fawn Chili Pepper

Have fun checking out what the rest of the design team has created.... and don't forget to leave those comments!  (having trouble with leaving comments on any blogs that are blogspot.com?  Check out my post here!!)

*Scrap 'n Stamp Perfect Pearls Blog Hop*

Welcome to the Perfect Pearls Blog Hop with the team at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!!!  For this hop, we are playing with Perfect Pearls!  There are SO many things you can do with Perfect Pearls so I tried to find something I hadn't done before.  Sadly, my picture taking skills suck so you can't see the wonderful shimmer along the side of this card.

We'd love to see the cards you create with Perfect Pearls... head on over to our FB Group to share them with us.

Also be sure to hop along with us over the next two weeks ... leave comments on each of the blogs for your chance to win a $50 gift card from Scrap'n Stamp.  We will announce the winner near the middle of the month!

AND, this weekend only (until Midnight Sunday), all Perfect Pearls products are 10% off at the Scrap 'n Stamp store!

Now, on to my card... as I said, you can't see the awesome shimmer that Perfect Pearls creates in my photo... sorry about that!
For this card, I started with the smaller white panel and used purple tape to not only adhere a Tim Holtz stencil to my cardstock, but to also protect the right side of the panel from ink and Perfect Pearls.  I then used the Life Changing Blending Brushes to add Versamark ink over the stencil.  While it was still sticky, I used a big fluffy brush that came with my Perfect Pearls in blue and gold, to put the powder on different areas of the stencil and rubbed it around.  I removed the stencil, added the dark blue layer using the We R Memory Keepers Layers Guide and put it all on a white card.  I then used my Gemini Jr to cut out this wonderful die from Picket Fence and added it to the front of the card.  I love being able to use stencils and powders and things from different companies to create my signature clean and simple style.

And since I didn't love how this card turned out, I decided you'd get a two for one today!
For this card, I used Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink on a white card panel, creating an ombre effect by using more layers of ink on one corner and feathering it out to a lighter shade in the opposite corner.  Distress Inks stay wet a little longer than most dye inks (and less long than pigment ink) which is why they are so awesome for blending... and also the reason I could use Confetti White Perfect Pearls over top of it.  I rubbed off the excess before putting the white panel through my Big Shot with an embossing folder.  What you can't see in the photo is how using the embossing folder makes the Perfect Pearls jump out at you at different angles.  I adhered the embossed panel to a white card and added the Picket Fence Studios Hello Word Die in black to the front of the card.

I can't wait to see what you create!

For now, be sure to hop along with the rest of the team (and remember to leave comments so your name will be entered in the draw to win a gift card from Scrap 'n Stamp!

*Stamps Stencils & Dies Oh My!*

It's the first Friday of the month so it's time for another blog hop with the team at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!!
For this month, we decided to play with some of the new Wendy Vecchi stuff that's in the store.  I used a great set that came with stamps, dies and a stencil... and I used all three!  I'm impressed that I was able to keep it still a little clean and simple.... my favourite style!

As always, leave a message on each of the blogs in the hop before May 14th for your chance to win a $50 shopping spree from Scrap 'n Stamp!  As an added bonus, all of the Wendy Vecchi sets will be 20% off until May 7th!!!
I took a piece of white cardstock and stencilled the + images on to it, being careful to keep the colour light.  I stamped the floral image in River Rock ink, knowing I didn't want a stark black.  I then coloured it with a couple of Copics and die cut the image.  I added the sentiment to the bottom before trimming down the front layer to 4 X 5.25" and placing it on a red card.

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White 110lb; Lawnfawn Rainbow Cardstock
*Images, Stencil and Die:  Wendy Vecchi A Million Thanks
*Ink:  Lawn Fawn River Rock; Versafine Clair Nocturne; Gina K Grass Green; Copics
*Tools:  Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blending Brushes

Be sure to visit the other design team members and leave comments on their hop cards too!

*Stencil Us In Blog Hop*

Happy Friday Everyone!!!  It's the first Friday of the month which means it's Blog Hop time with the Design Team from Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!!  This month, we are playing with STENCILS!
I have a few stencils and I enjoy colour blending with them... but I wanted to try something a little different.  You'll recall that I did a post last month where I used the Deco Foil Transfer Gel and foil with a stencil.... so I was a little challenged to think of something else.

One of my most favourite products is the Nuvo Glimmer Paste... I have only bought the Moonstone colour and am almost done my first jar of it (I never use up supplies like this... I play for a bit then lose interest and move on to the next product).  I just LOVE this stuff.  I have played with it several times, usually just the gel over a stencil to create a tone on tone (with sparkle) look.  I was looking at the jar when working on the card for the hop and wondered to myself "can I colour the paste?".  So I grabbed a handy reinker (happened to be pink) and I put some of the Glimmer Paste in a cup and added a few drops of reinker and started playing.  And it worked!  I am so excited that my one jar of Glimmer Paste can be ANY colour I want it to be!

I will warn you though... start with one drop of ink and build up to make a darker colour... this turned out way darker than I had really wanted it to be!
Once I had the background done and let it dry I was then tasked with figuring out what to do next.  I cut out some flowers from MFT, layered them on, added a few pieces of bling and a sentiment and done!

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White; assorted colours of Lawn Fawn cardstock
*Images:  MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes
*Ink:  VersaFine Clair Nocturne; reinker from my stash (any will work)
*Dies:  MFT Stitched Blooms
*Tools:  Gemini Jr; GinaK Sassy Stripes Stencil
*Embellishments:  assorted bling; Nuvo Glimmer Paste Moonstone

I hope you'll dig out some of your stencils and play along with us this month!  Post your creations on the Scrap 'n Stamp Facebook page so we can see what you've done!

As always, there is a prize to be won!  Comment on each of the blogs in the hop to have your name entered in a draw for a $50 gift certificate to spend at Scrap 'n Stamp!!!  We will post the winner on the Scrap 'n Stamp blog on or about March 24th.

Also, this weekend you will find all stencils 25% off in the Scrap 'n Stamp store!

Please share the love and visit the blogs of the rest of the Design Team.....  the links are below!
