I started with an embossed grey panel. the embossing folder is HUGE and has an opening in the centre... to be able to use more the embossed pattern, I pushed my cardstock up to the top of the design, leaving me with a half of the opening to deal with. I added some die cut pointsettias to dress it all up.
I put together a very quick card for the current challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown. The November Theme Challenge is "winter countryside" so I used one fo the silhouette dies I have...

I am playing alone with the November colour challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown... I saw the colours and had this idea pop in to my head. If you enlarge the photo you'll see that I added some sparkle to the trees and snowbank...
I don't often post more than once per day (at most) but I wanted to make sure to post this card in time for the challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown. As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew what I wanted to do!

It's a clean and simple "holidays" challenge at Addicted to CAS!! You can use whatever you wanted in a holiday theme... I bet some of you will even create a wonderfully beachy card to share with us!
I, personally, went with a Christmas card... I don't create a lot of scene type cards so a beach holiday card wouldn't have come easily to me! I saw this fabulous sketch at Sheetload of Cards and just had to adapt it to a clean and simple card. I'm also playing along at Christmas Card Throwdown where the technique challenge is embossing.
I am super excited to be playing along as a guest designer with the team at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown for their current challenge. I was chosen as the winner of one of their previous challenge with THIS card.
I don't make a lot of square cards but this sketch was a lot of fun for me!
I absolutely love the simplicity of my card following this sketch. I could see making more of this one!
OK creative friends... I'm going to ask you to be kind! I have been encouraged by a few people to do crafty videos and I decided to take the leap today. I don't have the time right now to put in to editing videos so I thought I'd start filming "create along with me" type videos where I make a card more or less in real time (I have planned some things out before I started filming but I filmed in real time with commentary as I went). After my first video I thought that maybe I'd try filming myself following some card making challenges.
Now I don't know how successful I will be at continuing this... I am off work this week and Bruce is in Copenhagen for work so my craft room is all mine so it was easy to film. I don't know what that will look like when Bruce is home as I feel pretty self conscious talking to myself.
So today is my first video in a very long time... and it shows you how I made this card... (scroll down to see the video)
