*Color Throwdown Guest Designer*

I was super excited to be chosen as the Featured Stamper at Color Throwdown for challenge #778... and I was asked to be a guest designer for challenge #780.

As most of you know, I struggle with going outside my box with colours... I like what I like and I gravitate towards those colours.  So colour challenges are TOUGH for me!  I was a little worried about saying yes to being a guest designer.  The team at Color Throwdown were so quick to get back to me to give me the colours for the challenge I'd be joining them on...

The afternoon I got the colours, I was at lunch with my younger son and he and I threw around some ideas for how to uses these colours.  All I knew for sure was that I didn't want to do another Valentine LOL!  This is the idea that stuck...

*Combining Challenges*

I'm combining a few challenges with my card today...  I found a new challenge called Word Power where the focal point of your card should be the sentiment.  I will play along with them again, for sure as I am not 100% convinced that this card fits the bill.  I am also playing along with the colour challenge at Color Throwdown.

To get the different shades of blue, I used the same colour but blended a different amount of ink on the three different stencils that I used.  I ended up with a medium blue as the lrger flowers, the medium flowers in a really light ink and the small flowers in the darkest ink.

*Two Challenges Before Work*

I have a different work week than most people... and I love it!  My work week starts at 12:30 on Wednesdays and ends at 2pm on Saturday.  I get some time off with my family and some time off where I can get appointments etc done.  It works for me.

Sometimes I end up with things I have to do on Wednesdays before I head off to work... but today was not one of those days!  I saw the new challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown and decided to combine them.  And my mojo cooperated!

*Colourful Birthday Wishes*

Happy Sunday, creative friends!  I found a little creativity in my craft space yesterday and made a card for the current challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown.  I placed this floral swag image in my Misti and stamped a portion of it on one corner of my card front and then flipped the cardstock around to stamp on the opposite corner as well.  I really love my Versafine Clair ink for stamping but it doesn't pair well with Copics, so lately I've been embossing my stamped image in clear so that I can use Copics.

*Two For One*

I don't often combine challenges, but I did for my card today.  I am using the sketch at Paper Craft Crew and the colours at Colour Throwdown.  I did a bunch of ink blending, added a stamped sentiment and some bling and called it done.

*Color Throwdown Guest Designer*

I was very excited to find out that THIS card was chosen at Color Throwdown... and I was asked to be a Guest Designer with them for their colour challenge this week.

I had to giggle that a card I created using yellow was chosen as I don't use a lot of yellow in my creations... and then to find out that I had to use yellow again???  I almost declined LOL!

But I grabbed some cardstock colours and started to play...  I decided to go a different route on this card and have the challenge colours there but not as prominent as in my previous yellow card.  I hope it still counts!

*A Big Birthday Wish*

My  apologies for not posting much lately... honestly, since about the second week of December, my mojo has taken a holiday from me.  I have had a few bursts of creativity and a whole bunch of dead time in my creative space.  I did manage to put together a few cards yesterday that I'll share, but it was a real struggle!

Today I am sharing a card for Freshly Made Sketches #570 and Color Throwdown #727...

I know I could have done some flowers with the colour combination but I was feeling stripes for some reason... which led me to following the sketch...

*Outside of my Box*

I went outside of my initial thoughts with this colour challenge at Color Throwdown...  I love these colours together but I didn't want to make a wintery card.  Now that I look at this card, I think I should have done the floral on the navy instead of the grey... but I kept going with this thought in my head and while I'm not sure it's "right" I do like it

*The Best Day Ever*

I've had a few creative days on my days off this week and I decided to try one more card before heading off to work at lunchtime today.  I saw the colours for the current Color Throwdown yesterday in their Facebook group (did you know that if you join their Facebook group you get a sneak peek of the upcoming challenge??) and knew I wanted to play with them.

I just love this colour palette.... and I'm glad I was able to find some creativity before I head off to work.

*Color Throwdown #706*

I had to play along with the latest challenge at Color Throwdown because I really love the look of blue and green together.

I usually choose the brighter forms of these colours to go together but I strayed from that with this card to use up a scrap of very old patterned paper I had in my stash.

*Color Throwdown #699*

I love the inspiration photo from the current Color Throwdown challenge so I had to play along.  But then I was stumped as to what I wanted to do...  I do much better with sketch challenges than colour challenges I think!

I pulled out a stencil I haven't used yet and this is the result.  I was going to orient my card the other way however the glitter paste made a mess in one area under the stencil so I flipped the panel and covered it with my sentiment!

*Color Throwdown #698*

I'm playing along with the current challenge at Color Throwdown.  I loved the look of the inspiration photo!

I have seen a few people do this idea of layering their die cuts to show the rainbow of colour... it was harder to do than I expected, but I think it turned out OK!

*Color Throwdown #695*

I pulled out a stencil that I purchased right before I broke my wrist.  Ink blending still isn't easy (and honestly it can hurt) but this was quick and I was able to get through it.  I loved the look of the colours in the current Color Throwdown Challenge so that's what I went with for this card.

*Color Throwdown #649*

I almost missed the deadline on this colour challenge at Color Throwdown... I set it aside last week to play with when I had some time and then didn't have any time until this afternoon.  I just loved these colours and I wanted to play....  I had lots of ideas in my head but this is the one I did first...and if I had more time I'd do some more.  I am thinking the green was the wrong choice for the word, though...
