*You Make Me Crazy Happy*

I really have a thing for rainbows these days.... well, longer than these days.... I just love the look of a good rainbow.

This card was pretty easy to put together... cut some strips of cardstock and adhere them to a panel, trim the edges.  I used my Misti to ensure I got good stamps of the word HAPPY ... I wanted to be able to stamp a second or third time to ensure it was good and dark.

*Pastel Balloons*

When I saw the Neat & Tangled Balloon Duo Stencil, I knew I had to have it.  And now that I have had it for a few months, I realize I need to play with it more.  I have a friend who hates balloons.... she hates the sound they make when they pop, which leads her to hate the balloon itself.  She also hates the sound of fireworks.  But I digress... I love balloons... they are uplifting (no pun intended) to me... they signify a celebration!

*It Sparkles!*

I'm up on the Scrap 'n Stamp Canada blog today with this quick and easy card....  following the prompt of the day which is SPARKLE!  Anyone who knows me, knows I love to add a little (or a lot) of sparkle to my cards!  I hope you'll play along and share your creations on the Facebook Page.  We will be doing a random draw at the end of the month for a gift card to Scrap 'n Stamp!
This card is pretty simple.... I started with the Gina K Mandala Burst Stencil and a heart mask that I cut out of computer paper.  I used the negative of the heart to create a mask so I could create within the heart shape with the stencil.  I used a palette knife and that wonderful Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste... I really love that stuff!  Often I buy these new products, use them a time or two and never look at them again... with this, I'm on my second jar!  I set this aside to dry for about 15 minutes.

I cut out the MFT Friend Duo die from black cardstock and added Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen on it.  Once the Glimmer Paste was dry, I added the die cut and stamped the rest of the sentiment on the front panel.  I cut it down to 4"X5.25" and put it on the front of a white card with foam tape for a little more dimension.

I look forward to seeing your SPARKLE cards!

*As Awesome As You Are*

I was on a real patterned paper kick for a few cards....  trying to use up the stash I have to justify buying more :-)  I don't use patterned paper a lot, and not usually as a focal point... but I sure love buying it and using small pieces here and there.  I much prefer a 6X6 or a 6X8 pad to 12X12 as most 12X12 patterns are too big for my liking for a card.  I like that with the smaller pads that the pattern has been shrunk to fit the smaller size.

*Hello Friend*

You know, it feels a little strange this week....  I'm not on chemo right now.  Not a bad strange, but after 6 months of doing the same routine every two weeks, it all feels a little odd.  I am so happy to be done with treatments for now... I have no idea what my follow up care looks like yet, but for the next 8 weeks or so, I'm going to enjoy feeling a little better with every day and living life a little closer to my normal.

I have had the patterned paper I used on this card for more than a decade I think.  I have no idea who made it, but I loved it when I bought and I still do.  I have only scraps of it left at this point though.

*CAS#369*

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  I hope you're ready to stretch your creative side with another challenge from CASology!  We want to see your clean and simple cards with your interpretation of the cue word which is WIND.
I will admit, I struggled with this prompt!  Wind (short sounding "I") or Wind (long sounding "I"), how do you showcase it?  I spent a lot of time just thinking about it and then decided to go through my stamps... and I came up with a few ideas and finally settled on this one...
Yup, just breathe....  it's something we all need to be reminded of sometimes.  No matter how rocky the road, how long the haul, how awful the situation, sometimes we all just need to stop and breathe.

For this card, I started with the Taylored Expressions Masking Rectangle and a large Catherine Pooler background stamp.  This gave me just enough of the flowers without being too overwhelming.  I then added some soft colours with blending brushes using the Masking Rectangle as well.  And surprise!  I didn't use a white base!!

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White 110lb; unknown yellow
*Images:  Catherine Pooler Doodle Garden; Altenew Bad Days Happen
*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne; Catherine Pooler Tiara, It's A Girl

*Super Clean and Simple*

A lot of the cards I've posted lately haven't been super clean and simple.  They have been somewhat clean and simple for the most part and a few haven't even hit that radar.  I don't mind non clean and simple cards, but I really to gravitate to lots of white space and a simple design.  It's what floats my boat, so to speak!

So today I'm back to a truly clean and simple card... one image, two ink colours, a sentiment and a couple of embellishments.
Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White 100lb; Stampin' Up! Basic Black

*Means So Much*

More patterned paper... I was on a real kick one day while I was craft chatting on Zoom with some of my creative friends.  There might be more in the days to come LOL!  I think this card, while the entire front is covered, is somewhat clean and simple... certainly not by all guidelines, but I think it *could* be in some circles.  Certainly more clean and simple than some of the cards I've made in my career!
I wish I would have looked at the flowers better as I just started randomly colouring and then realized that I couldn't do some of the flowers that I should have because they had other colours already in them.

*Time to Celebrate*

Another card with some VERY old patterned paper.... we're talking I bought it when I worked at the stamp store probably 11 or 12 years ago!  I've gotten rid of a lot of paper over the years (sold it or gave it away) but I kept some of the ones I thought I'd use.... eventually LOL

*Sending Sunny Thoughts*

Usually when I create a card, I start with the design and then HOPE I can find either an image or a sentiment that goes with the card design.  It doesn't always work out for me (and I wish I hadn't downsized X set from my stash).  Thankfully I still have a lot of options to work with.... I grab out everything I think will work and since they are clear stamps I can put the stamp on top of the area I want it and figure out how it fits.  Sometimes is a sentiment set, sometimes it's a set with a bunch of images and sentiments... and sometimes an image is what is needed instead.  It's a lot of trial and error but I am thankful that most of my stamps are clear so I can play this game :-)

This card started with the stencilled background... first with ink and then covered with Nuvo Glimmer Paste (which I LOVE!).

*Happiness is Contagious*

Another day of playing with some patterned paper from the same pack of papers that I used yesterday.  This time is's a small daisy foiled design.  I ran the paper through my Gemini Jr with a SMILE die... but messed up putting the letters on the black strip and didn't get them as centred as I had hoped to.

*Step Layered Patterned Paper*

I absolutely love this foiled patterned paper from Stampin' Up!  Which makes it hard for me to use.  But I saw an idea on Pinterest and wanted to try it.  It ends up being *way* busier than most cards I make but it will work to send to someone.  It's not that I hate it or even don't like it... I do like it.... it's just so far from my style!
To create this, I cut out several different sizes from the Waffle Flower A2 Layers Die, leaving a few sizes between each die.  I used one piece of 4x5.25" patterned paper as the cuts would be hidden.  I then used my Perfect Layers tool to create a black border around each patterned paper rectangle.  I adhered the largest size directly to the front of a white card and then used foam tape on every second layer so that the depth of the card didn't get out of control.

*Challenge Accepted*

When I showed my good friend Bonnie the card I posted yesterday, she challenged me to make a feminine version of it... and I love playing with pink and blue so I accepted the challenge.  I switched things up just a big, making it a landscape card and different stamps and dies.
I think I like this one better than yesterday... but I like girly things LOL!

*Alcohol Ink Happy Birthday*

I was playing around with alcohol inks a few weeks ago... instead of doing full on backgrounds, I played with patches on the paper instead.  I really like how this one turned out.  A little muddying in the middle, but hard to see with the stuff over it.  I need to buy more colours....

The one thing I did learn is that Versafine Clair ink does *not* dry on Yupo Paper  (thankfully I tried it on a scrap) so I used Versamark and black embossing powder once my alcohol ink was super dry!

*Happy Birthday Strips*

In an attempt to use up some old patterned paper, I made this card.  It doesn't use a lot, but at least it used some.  To make sure my strips were exact, I used a rectangle die instead of cutting it with my paper cutter.

*You Are The Best*

And here we are... the halfway point of May... it's hard to believe how long we've been staying home, trying to get used to a new way of living our lives.  I am thankful for my love of card making as I have spent a lot of time creating in the last few months.... sometimes all alone, sometimes with friends on video chat.  The video chat craft sessions have been fun and I seem to be more creative when there are like-minded others to craft with!
This is another white on white layered card.  It's necessary (at least for me) when I want to colour with copics but still have a wonderfully clean and simple card.

Items Used:
*Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White 110lb

*Another Year*

I am happy to report that as of about 430 this afternoon (630 eastern), I will be done chemo!  I went in on Tuesday for my 2 hour infusion and I come home with a bottle of another drug that infuses in to my system over 46 hours.  I wear it in a little fanny pack like bag and it's hooked up to a port in my chest for those 2 days.  It's not pretty, but it is necessary.  I am SO happy be done with round #12!!!  In all honesty, the time from my first treatment (early December) to now has truly flown by most of the time... but on the days I feel particularly crappy, it feels like forever.  I will have a few crappy days coming up (in fact today I'm already feeling pretty tired), but after that I will just continue to feel a little better every single day.

I was playing around and thought I'd try a Copic coloured card that is a little more muted than what I usually do.  I used a grey ink to stamp the flowers and then chose more pastel shades of ink to colour the image.  I love how it turned out....

*Happy Mother's Day*

My Mom passed almost 10 years ago, but I still have a mother in law that I can make Mother's Day cards for...  So I put this one together for us to sign and send off to her...  There will be some other Mother's Day themed cards coming at some point as with Covid-19 I had several people ask if I could make cards for them to give to their moms... and of course I said YES!
To start, I took a heart die and made myself a mask for ink blending.  I then grabbed the new Fanciful Blossom stencil from Wild Whisper and blended a few colours through it.  I cut out the word "mom" and stamped on the rest of the sentiment before added a purple border and putting it all on a white card.

*It's Blended*

Scrap 'n Stamp Canada is doing another month long word of the day challenge.  For today, the prompt is "Blended" so I did some ink blending on a card I made for a friend to give to her daughter for her first Mother's Day!

Here's a look at the graphic for all the days of May, in case you missed it!
I had fun playing with colours on this card... I sure hope that they go together.  I miss having my friend Bonnie over to help me with decisions!
I started with placing my cardstock behind my stencil... my stencil is the one that has the sunburst more in the corner so I played around a bit to get it more centred from left to right.  I love Purple Tape for this!  I then blended on some pink and yellow Gina K inks and it created more of an orange than I had hoped for thanks to getting the pink on more of the stencil than I had planned.  I cut the letters from some purple glitter paper and stamped the sentiment underneath.  And in a strange twist of events (for me) I stuck with the yellow card instead of just doing a layer.

Items Used:
*Carstock:  Neenah Solar White; Lawn Fawn Sunflower; purple glitter from my stash
*Images:  MFT All About Mom
*Ink:  Gina K Wilde Dandelion and Passionate Pink; Versafine Clair Nocturne
*Dies:  MFT Mom
*Stencils:  Picket Fence Studios Sunburst
*Tools:  Gemini; Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes
*Embellishments:  Studio Katia Arctic Breeze Pearls; very very old Prima flower

Be sure to create some cards using our prompts and share them on our Facebook Challenge Page!! We will be choosing one person at random at the end of the month to win a small shopping spree at Scrap 'n Stamp!

*From My Hubby*

I just wanted to pop on really quickly to share the Mother's Day card my hubby made for me!  I didn't take a photo of the inside, but I can tell you he cut out letters from purple cardstock to spell Happy Mothers Day.

I'm pleased he did this for me!

It's time for another fun challenge with the team at AAA Cards!  As always, we are looking for your clean and simple cards following the cue card below.  Link up your card with the challenge for your chance to win a gift certificate from Uniko Stamps (once they are up and running again).  This challenge, our guest designer is Helen!
I got a new (to me) Stampin' Up! stamp set and just couldn't wait to ink it up for this card....  I managed to do the up to one third as well as the optional twist of a repeating image.  I look at this card and the colours just scream SUMMER to me!

*More Scraps!*

Happy Saturday!  Do you even care what day it is any more?  It will be so hard to go back to life with alarm clocks and schedules when more restrictions are lifted and we try to get back to a more normal life.  Bruce starts his work day at 9am so we haven't set an alarm in weeks as we are both waking up on our own between 7 and 8am.  It's nice to be able to wake up when your body says "good morning" instead of to a stupid alarm!

This is another card using extras from a different project... or pieces that didn't work the way I wanted.  I am sure not going to waste that wonderful glitter paper and throw out an idea that didn't work out!!  I'm not sure that the sentiment is the right one for this design, but it is what it is...

*Smile... It's Your Birthday*

Happy Thursday everyone (at least I think it's Thursday).  Every day kinda feels the same these days.  Our family is doing pretty well with everything... we are homebodies at the best of times so life isn't a lot different except no one is heading off to the office (everyone who works is working from home).  I do share my craft space with my hubby's new home office so I get to hear some really boring conversations about computers....
Another rainbow card for you today... I sure do love making rainbow coloured cards!  This one uses Gina K inks to create the rainbow on a retired Stampin' Up! silver embossed patterned paper.

*So Grateful For You*

I am back today with another card that took a trip through the scrap bucket on my desk.  When I die cut or stamp extra things, if they are usable, I tend to keep them in a little dish on my desk.  You never know when those pieces might work for something.  Every piece for this card came from that dish.

I don't know that I LOVE this card, but hey, it's better than wasting some good scrap items!  Not to mention I made it on a day where the mojo was *not* flowing... and I did it without having another card for inspiration.  It all came from my head.

*Thanks*

With me being immunocompromised these days, we are thankful to have some very good friends who are running our errands for us.  When we are back to a more "normal" life I plan to do something for each of them as a thank you, but for now, I am sure to send a card every once in a while to let them know that we really do appreciate them helping us out and keeping us healthy and safe.

Let me tell you, it's not fun going through chemo treatments through a global pandemic!
I love the colours in this card... makes me think of lemonade for some reason!

*Thoughtful Blooms*

When I saw this Sale-a-Bration set from Stampin' Up! this year, I knew I had to have it.  I just love the little flowers (and the fact that you can punch them out with a punch too!).  Once I had it in my hands, I couldn't wait to play with it.... so I grabbed some GinaK inks and had some fun.

You know what I LOVE about creating with stamps and paper?  It's that I can grab a stamp set from company A and inks from company B and a sentiment from company C and combine it all together to make something I love!

This is a quick and easy one layer card... nice and bright for spring!

*Smile Spatter*

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Considering we were all holed up at home for the month of April, it seems to have gone by fast for me.  I can't believe we're in May already!  When I started Chemo in December, May seemed so far away.... and now I have just one more treatment left.  This last treatment (which I started this past week) has really kicked my a$$.  I went for a walk yesterday and got three houses away before I had to sit down for 5 minutes and then make my way home.  It wasn't much of a walk, but at least I tried.  For those that don't know, I have made an effort to walk every single day since August 25, 2016!  With two cancer diagnosis and two times through chemo, some of those walks have been like yesterday... but I count it.  I'm still getting my butt out of a chair to try to walk.

Anyway....  a bright card to share with you today... something to add a little sunshine to your life!
I just love these spatter stamps!!  And the Gina K inks worked so well!  They went on a little sparse but the colour filled out so nicely!  I can't wait to get more of them!

*Miss You*

Happy Saturday everyone!  It's been a long 6 or so weeks that our family has been physically distancing from others.  We are doing OK but missing some of the little things.  I've done more video chats in the last weeks than I've ever done in my life.  It's not something I really thought I'd enjoy, but it's been a blast doing video chat craft days with some of my crafty friends.  Some are people I couldn't get together with anyway since we don't live anywhere near each other.  We just chat while we're crafting, showing each other our creations as we go along.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to give it a try.  The patterned paper is directly on the card front and I've added two more pieces of white cardstock on foam tape to pop them up.

*Stamps Stencils & Dies Oh My!*

It's the first Friday of the month so it's time for another blog hop with the team at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada!!
For this month, we decided to play with some of the new Wendy Vecchi stuff that's in the store.  I used a great set that came with stamps, dies and a stencil... and I used all three!  I'm impressed that I was able to keep it still a little clean and simple.... my favourite style!

As always, leave a message on each of the blogs in the hop before May 14th for your chance to win a $50 shopping spree from Scrap 'n Stamp!  As an added bonus, all of the Wendy Vecchi sets will be 20% off until May 7th!!!
I took a piece of white cardstock and stencilled the + images on to it, being careful to keep the colour light.  I stamped the floral image in River Rock ink, knowing I didn't want a stark black.  I then coloured it with a couple of Copics and die cut the image.  I added the sentiment to the bottom before trimming down the front layer to 4 X 5.25" and placing it on a red card.

Items Used:
